does anyone use femanized seeds

Recommended Posts

As with any seed it depends on how much care was taken by the breeder (and a good dose of chance).

Have been doing my own for a few years, never had an issue with them that I wouldn't have with 'normal' seed.

IMO the bad rap that feminised seeds get is because of dodgy breeders/seed banks selling either seeds from substandard stock or ruining good strains in the process of feminising them.

Like any seed purchase, do your research, pick a reputable breeder with good strains and good grower feedback and you wont go wrong.

heya Puka =) , I use Fem seeds, if bought from one of the better seed banks, rarely a problem. Like IC said, it's all about the breeders feminization process and if it is a stable way of producing fem beans.

Can trust Sensi, Barneys, and a few others with known good breeders and genetics, Mr Nice should be good too if Shantibaba is still the breeder.

I like Regular seeds, but at release Barneys P/C and T/D were not available in regular. Fem seeds do have the advantage of knowing (or having a VERY high percentage) you have a female, and only paying for females.

But I do miss that pollen, lots ya can do with it. lol . Happy strain hunting man. Peace. Gh72

Hey thanks guys,

I'm glad to see some have had success with fem seeds. As much as I would like to be have a mother and cross my own strains I also get quite paranoid and don't want to have plants growing 365 days a year..

If I can do one grow a year I will be happy, hence the attraction of femanized beans.

Stix, Thanks for the tip on the blue cheese, I'll stay away from that one.

I have been looking at serious seeds. They have only 9 strains in their collection, theoretically this gives breeders more time to perfect their strains. I kind of related it to resteraunts.. if a resteraunt has 9 things on the menu, they are gonna have the time to make em real nice... But if the restarunt has 29 things on the menu, a lot will be fairly average, and only a few meals they do well..

It seems AK47 is there most popular and being a sativa dom, should yield well too. However, it is supposed to be VERY smelly, and I was thinking of putting it out for easter harvest.. so maybe not..
