From a 200L tank, you'll probably only need a drip. Pumping from 200L drum won't leave much after a short time on. Plants will benefit from an extended drip more-so than a short sharp burst.

If you really think it's necessary, try using a car's wiper washer pump. It'll pump more than enough water, and be kind to your battery arrangement.

Sounds all too elaborate to me. Remember KISS. Keep It Simple .......

someone has posted about a battery operated solenoid here before. Which to my understanding is just an automatic tap that opens and closes on a timer. If you mount you res higher than your plants then run your main line feeding your drippers out of your solenoid I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

Dripping is fine - I dont see any problem. If the water is evaporating too fast then bury the pipe a litle bit with some rockwool at the end and/or mulch.

The more its angled and the wider the pipe the more it will run.

NB. bury the whole pipe or cover it with white [you probably dont want to do this though] so that the pipe stays cool or else you may stress the roots or lose excess water via condensation within the pipe. Black material absorbs heat. :D

Heres a hint for making some tea in the bush - get some hose which wont contaminate water, roll it into a flat circle and then wrap it in aluminium foil and wrap all that in black plastic. Its unreal how much it will heat up on a sunny day - you can scald yourself with it. I seen this on the Bush Tucker Man show.
