$3m marijuana found in raid

MORE than 1900 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $3 million have been discovered in a raid on a property in northern NSW.

 

NSW Police said officers raided the Myrtle Creek property yesterday afternoon and seized 1959 plants, valued at $2,953,000, a shotgun and two rifles.

 

A 60-year-old Myrtle Creek man was charged with cultivate large commercial quantity of prohibited plant, possess prohibited drug and not keeping a firearm safely secured.

 

He was refused bail and will appear in Lismore Local Court today.

 

A 58-year-old Myrtle Creek woman was charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of a prohibited plant. She was granted conditional bail and will appear at Lismore Local Court on December 17.

 

 

The raid was conducted part of Strike Force Hearse, along with police from Richmond Local Area Command, Richmond Drug Unit and the Aviation Support Branch. The Courier Mail
