Latest possible planting time

Recommended Posts

Thanks STONEDAJ69.

BTW those seeds I placed in film canisters have sunk to the bottom of the tubes.

I'm thinking this is positive.

Oh' for insurance I have started another lot in potting mix and keeping them away from the cheap heated propagation tray.

I scratched away at the mix to expose the seed and found that the seed looked like it had germinated as there was a little white dick poking out of the seed however it was miniscule. I'm thinking it got to hot for the little ones. I have left them in and will monitor what happens out of curiosity.

I'm thinking these propagation trays (heated) need some specialised handling.

shoomyshroom, more good news regarding the Feb thing.

Now I'm hoping my plants are Indica. They have a broad leaf, not real broad but not pencil skinny if you know what I mean.

The seeds in the film canisters are starting to pop. I can see white where the seed has split so I have popped these seeds into pot plants. So far seven out of fourteen have the white showing.

I'm revising my ideas on getting these babies going. I'm curious on how I can use the compact flouro's to get my plants to a size where they won't be so vulnerable to slugs and snails etc.Stealth needs to be applied as I'm not in a position where I can persue my hobby openly. Any information will be greatfully received. Thanks.

Nice :)

If you do lots of research from this point you still have a long time o grow good plants this season !

You should be able to get the right fittings to set up some cfls in some kind of box from bunnings ,

But if stealth is a big issue I think this time of year you could raise them in a small greenhouse to a good size ..

If your gonna go with this idea though be very careful that you get a good small greenhouse with very good ventilation and keep an eye on it on the hotter days .

Should only be a few weeks until you can plant them out without having to worry as much :)

Good luck !!

I've been having computer problems so I haven't been around as much as I would like to, and the inevitable xmas stuff has kept me flat out at work.

My germination problems have been solved in one way.

In desperation I placed every seed I have into seed raising mix only this time no artificial heat source. I think I stuffed up by keeping a lot of moisture in the propagation tray for fear of the seeds drying out when I wasn't around. I think my problem lies here. My seeds seem to be rotting as they smell real bad when you crack them open and some of them are really mushy.

The other thing I have found is , when I squeeze the seed pod open, tiny white worm like creatures come out of the pulp.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot some of the seeds sent out the stem that becomes the root and it didn't develop any further just seemed to die.

I'm thinking it was possibly to hot as well as to wet unless some one knows what is going wrong here?

Does anyone have any ideas, before I get the last of these seeds from a mate and have another go.

It will definately be the last of a line so I don't want to stuff up.

Fold a piece of paper towel in quarters and saturate it. Place your seeds on it and fold in half again. Put in a freezer bag and place in a warm dark cupboard. I like to open once a day for a minute to keep some oxygen in there. I got 100% germination rate last time around. Good luck!
