doctor certificate/permission

Question

I have always had problem sleeping but it’s getting worse recently. I have seen my ex mother-in-law eventually taking about 8 different pills a day so I refuse to take sleeping pills. I know marijuana helps me sleep since I have tried it a few time before.

 

I will see my GP very soon to ask for a doctor certificate/permission to use marijuana for medical purpose. Since I am new to this area, I have only seen him a few times. My GP is very nice and helpful but looks quite straight.

 

Does anyone have any suggestion how I should go about it please?

It's good you've been able to get some good nights of sleep.

It's a shame that most Dr's won't realize the benifits that Cannabis can have for sleeping problems. :bleh:

It is a pity Mimjess. I've never really had a problem with sleeping, so never had to deal with taking prescribed drugs to try and fix the problem.

I have been smoking for a few many years and I know when I crash out at night I tend to sleep pretty solid. I reckon it's one of the best aspects of Cannnabis.

Not allways easy to obtain though..

If you’re still using the OTC melatonin, then you’re only using a very small amount (nearly placebo) and it should be completely safe. It should also be remembered that melatonin is produced naturally by all humans to help us sleep. It’s a completely natural hormone.

 

Cannabis is very effective for many medical conditions and is obviously the safest recreational drug known to man. But it should only be used to treat a mental illness with extreme caution.

 

Personally I would never advise someone to start smoking weed purely as a sleep aid, it just simply isn’t an effective medicine for insomnia.

 

If I don’t smoke for a week or two, then a few nice pipes will put me into dreamland. Problem is, a week later I need to smoke 5 grams a day of the same weed and I’m still not guaranteed a good night sleep.

 

Imho, you should only really use cannabis medically for a physical condition. Other than that, you should probably just keep it as a fun recreational past time. You don’t want to end up like me with a serious habit, which gives cannabis a bad name.

 

Then again I suffer from High-Functioning Autism, severe depression, social anxiety and insomnia and find that cannabis is the only thing that really helps, So who the fuck am I to tell others it won’t help them, right? lol
