Id love to get publically involved in the anti-prohibition argument but its hard to commit to while smoking and growing illegally. Its not uncommon to hear an activist get raided and I cant be bothered with that stuff. Ill read the marijuana australiana site and go to events - hopefully more people have the balls to do what you do AA - I just couldnt handle the stress right now but I would love to do it if I was allowed to use MJ.

Oh I hear you :: I've stressed and sweated over this decision, I've probably got a grey hair or two now because of it.

 

I would have liked nothing better than to shut up, keep smoking, maybe try growing my own plants one day, but I just can't do it. These laws are really starting to piss me off, not from any "real" impact on myself, but I'm sick of hiding and sneaking in a smoke, not being able to enjoy my drug of choice while everyone around me uses alcohol irresponsibly. First I decided I just had to take a stand and speak out, so I wrote letters to The West Australian. Then I started talking about it to friends and family - in fact my letters were seen by all of my family and it pre-empted my plan to talk to them about it. Then I started brainstorming on how we could end prohibition in Australia, kept up to date with pot-tv.net and what's happening in Canada at the moment (it was legal for much of this year, possession laws were struck down when the medical regulations were found to be unconstitutional, Supreme Court rules on the constituionality of possession/use/sale any month now!). It's just amazing what Canada has achieved in terms of public awareness and debate, 40% now support outright legalisation, 80% support medical use. We'd be up there for medical use, but I wonder if we'd even have a majority by lumping in decrim and legalisation together.

 

I've got lots of ideas and plans, but I just can't do it by myself.

 

If you can't get publicly involved, there's still so much you can do behind the scenes - let the rest of us stand up in public, just support us any way you can, with whatever skills and resources you have.

g'day; A.A....hurry up and get your site running. i am an opinionated prick at times, especially when i read crap from the general media.hopefully, we can get more organised and give our employee's a big shake up.

cannabis will never be legal if we all hide and sit on our hands.

i often send letters to the local papers also, most often they won't print letter, maybe they are scared.
