Best way to store weed for long periods of time?

Hi guys

 

I’ve been lurking in this forum for ten months and I have already grown three crops. Thanks to all of you that take the time to share your experiences here in the forum! I’m very happy I don’t have to deal with dodgy people or drive/wait for long periods anymore!!

 

Now I have a problem I never had before. I have way too much weed and need to store it. I’m looking to keep the weed for up to three years, is it possible? How long time do you think until start losing potency? Can I keep them in airtight jars or should I been looking into a vacuum sealed bags in the refrigerator? Is it any other methods to store the weed?

I am in no way an expert but this is not the truth, weed stored properly or curing of the buds is a very important, and don't quote me on it....but the longer the better?

Concur. If the bud is cured properly, and stored in vacuum sealed bags in the freezer (cold dark place), or somewhere else dark and cold, they'll keep for ages. Heat and light degrade Delta 9 (shameless plug) THC, which is obviously the good stuff.

 

And having too much weed is a problem that I'm looking forward to having myself one day

 

PS - Any chance of seeing any pics of your grows if you took any? Or details on what strains, and how they turned out? Cheers

surameric .... vacumn packed & heat-sealed in quality plastic bags (thick food grade is ok), buried under at least 25-30cm earth ...

Hey mate, I haven’t taken any photos coz never need them before. However, this is short record of the grows/strains I have grown til now:

 

1. Grapefruit (sativa) female: 90-100 grms per plant

My opinion: Citrus flavours. Happy stoned. Yield is small but has a superb quality. The best stuff I smoke in my life.

 

2. Jorge's Diamond (indica): 140 grams per plant

My opinion: These plants smell very little. Great if you have odours problems. You feel quite “heavy†and is good to sleep. Good yield and very easy to look after.

 

3. The Ultimate (50 ind/50 sat) fem.

My opinion: I don’t like these plants, to many different phenotypes. Some plants good producers, some not. So far nothing “Ultimate†about these plants. Haven’t test the smoke yet, they are still curing/drying.

awesome man... Do as the other had said in relation to storage. When I have a little too much I make hash or oil out o it... Always good to have it on hand.

Based in my experience, yes definitely the weed that has been the longest in the jars (5 months) is very smooth and somehow feels “strongerâ€.

It's like fine wine, the longer that you leave it to cure, the better it is. You are correct about a smoother smoke, so you are curing correctly. As to being stronger, well I'm not sure. Many people claim this, so there may be something to it. Anyhow well done and lots of pics next time. Don't be afraid, we don't bite.
