600W HPS+MH DIG BALLAST COOLTUBE

Recommended Posts

This is my first indoor grow, I have a 4 pot dwc in a 36m2 room. I have yet to purchase lights, but am thinking of running 2 600W HPS+MH digi ballast cooltubes for about $380 ea. Has anyone used these, and what did you think? Id really like some good opinions and advice before making my biggest purchase.

Thanx,

Chef

im using exactly that, mines a digital growlush ballast and is working fine. mine has a 150mm outlet for the fan. my only complaint is that all the 150mm fans i have tried are noisy. u would be much better off getting a 250 mm in line fan if u can and just reducing your duct size down from the 250 to 150 to fit onto the hood. this gives you more airflow and the bigger fans seem to run whisper quite in my experience.

G'day Chef.

I'm using one 1000w HPS in a room 1.5 x 1.5 x 2m, this is roughly the same size, I think, and it's working perfect. Couldn't be better. A single 1000w lamp really puts out a shit load of light. It will be cheaper to buy initially, and cheaper to run. You need lots of circulation in a smallish room, as it can get very hot, very quick.
