White curl grubs/beetle larvae in my soil

Recommended Posts

Ive got a 600w cooltube 1.2m tent setup growing bagseed as a trial run. due to a hermie being pulled i had a chance to inspect the roots.

I found quite a few white curl grubs amongst the roots. I have had these before in my outdoor grow.

The only way i know to get rid of them for sure is confidor but I've read its no good for mullies.

Has anyone had experience with these pests? I have searched high and low but cant seem to find any information on controling curl grub in edible crops

BT (Baccillus Thuriengensis) - "gnat off" available from most hydro stores in oz ..... youre going to want to use it with a liberal repeated application of neem oil..... the gnat off affects your adult hatched larvae within the grow medium (kills them) .... the eggs are affected by the neem as it fucks with their breeding cycle/procreation cycle. so heres the go ..... drench medium with gnat off and reapply every 4 days (+?) after for 4 applications...

every single week apply neem oil once (not a lot of neem, just enough (nice thick milky consistency to the water/feed with neem in it) ... after 2 or 3 weeks (NO gnats) ..... if there are any mature adult larvae flying around they can be handled with yellow pest strips !! ...

peace n pot ..

PS(dont take any guff from those nasty critters !!! theyre bastards ..) --- Gnats prosper in moist environments, make it uncomfortable for them to survive ....

I think your confusing fungus gnats with curl grubs, Curl grubs are the larvae of rhino or christmas beetles, they look like witchety grubs 2-3cm long and 1cm fat but they get more than twice that size.

and from what Ive read its not good to use neem after the 5th week of flowering
