pH down

Recommended Posts

I am using phophoric acid at the moment. I think that's what the guy at the hydero shop said anyway.. I am just about out of it and don't really want to go all the way to the hydro shop if I can avoid it.. what do others use? Is there something I can buy from a hardware store?

Don't think you will find phosphoric at bunnings but not sure.

I use Hydrochloric acid which is available at any hardware store. Too strong to use straight so I mix it 9:1, and usually end up using from 0.50-1.0mL per Litre.

I have been using it for years, it works, and it is cheap as.

Be careful when using it, particularly when undiluted. When you unscrew the cap you will see a white plume of vapour exiting the bottle, don't breathe this in or even get on your skin as goes for the liquid too it really burns (derrr).

Also never add water to acid, only add acid to water otherwise it may spit at you.
