Buster100
Wondering if anyone has tried the '3 days of darkness' before harvesting ? From what I have read, 3 days of complete darkness at the end of your flushing period can really increase the resin production of the buds...... Have tried searching on this forum and others but have not found any mention of it, most of the references to this are from the U.S... Any feedback or comments - not sure if I should give it a go or not ?? Buster

greenseas
Seems a good theroy Buster100...evidence is that when you harvest the best time is after the plants have been in darknessfor a while. Give it a go for 24hrs, and check up on them every now and then ...see what's happening...might be a good thing The posts from your link seem to think it works.Maybe it's the best kept secert.... EDIT: And on the forth day, there was light... ...and the Harvester said, "this is good... , ...I am waaaayyy stoned." El Gato
I have read both, full light and full dark for a few days. I just go normal and cut before/at lights on. I can see payments for both cases.

paddy1
I wouldn't do that for more than 48 hours. I think that if a 'few days' turned into a week, there would be a risk involved. Edited October 9, 2011 by paddy1
Anakha
Interesting, there are lots of different opinions out there about how much darkness before harvest.....as a newb i had been told to have em in 24 hours dark prior to harvest............... Anyways was looking through the Sea Of Seeds site last nite and went in to The Doggies Nuts White Widow.....in the description it stated: It's suggested to flower (12 hour light) this marijuana variety for 8 weeks, but 10 weeks will really give you the crystals you are after. Try to turn the lights off altogether the final 2 weeks of the flowering cycle- or at least down to 8 hours. This keeps the flowers from re-growth and stresses the plant into giving up its last drop of goodness as crystal to protect the flower! So there is another opinion for the debate!!! 2 weeks.....sounds a hell of a long time for me................ Oh below is the link to the page to show where that quote came from.... http://www.seaofseeds.com/product-detail.php?cat_url=The-Doggies-Nuts-Seeds&prod_url=doggies-nuts-white-widow-1 Anakha
Naycha
Yeah this is definitely not the best kept secret most of the references to this are from the U.S... That didn't get the alarm bells ringing ?? Just add it to the end of your 12/1 + reducing light hours in flower schedule Naycha
Delta 9
Has anyone here actually tried turning lights off for a period of time (more than 12 hours) before harvesting? And if so, were there any remarkable results?
