How to train down plants?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

If anyone has any advice about how to train down my plants with string so as to expose more light to the lower shoot and promote more colas, I would appreciate it!!

Thanks,

Cheebafan

Just do exactcly that cheeba...

Bend em down & tie them. Personally I put a screen over the top of the pot & bend them under / through it, then another screen a foot or so above that one & just keep bending & twining them thru it.

If not you can just use garden twist & bend them down as you want them. Loop the twine loosely over not round the plant & bend down slowly, maybe leave for a few hours & tighten till you get them where ya want em.

I find some plants bend easier than others. They are pretty forgiving & will often keep growing after a bad bend / break.

You can drill holes on the brim of the pot to attach the twine to.

Happy bending...

You might consider growing using the SCROG method, it keeps all your buds at the same height so they all get good light, otherwise simply tie them down using string and a couple of old bricks....new ones work the same  ....its a good idea to use a rubber band as a shock absorber, put it around the branch first then connect the string to it. :D
