LED's

Ok I'm one of those "new" growers ya know I've done a lot of research and based on what I've learned LED us not a flash in the pan.

But I am new and probably naive and perhaps as some of you say have thrown out my money. So to be fair I will start my grow and without any assistance from other light sources attempt my very first grow with LED. I take it on board you guys have a plethora of experience but in

Saying that it can also cause you to be stale and stuck In

Your ways and resistant to change. I paid 800 for my panel and it does not use Cree but bridgelux LED which apparently are on

Par. I've decided against hid or other forms simply because of simplicity of a panel a tent and a heater, if it all goes bad all i really need is a ballast a light and a extraction fan so who cares I already burned 800. I will post all my pics and either celebrate my victory or do the post of shame, doesn't matter it takes all kinds and besides they all told mr Cadbury he was dumb selling chocolate bars.

Look guys, I not down on new technology........as long as it works, I just trying to save you a lot of frustration , wasted time and wasted dollars... makes no difference to me what ya use, your money.

 

But I won't see Newbs basically conned into buying this shit by the Sphinkter-net, which by the way guys , aint the be all and end all of information, 50% of info on the net is Bullshit.

And sorry dude, good luck with ya grow under LED. But ya spent $800 on a panel, with no ventilation???? Umm mate, ya still need that, plants need ventilation, even with LED's, and carbon filters etc etc, they not some magical Unicorn light.

 

With heating in winter, it will cost you more to run the panel and the heater than you will save in power and HiD is cheap to buy, and after heating the LED grow...to run too......seems like a no brainer to me. Heaters are like 1000-1500-2000-2500w , so what ya save with the pretty lights ya pay for in the end......

Redeyedfrog, we got nuthin` good to say about them thar LED thingies about these parts...then again as was stated, not many real attempts either.

 

Sure ppl are skeptical, it`s somewhat healthy.

Now you have spent the big money, get everything else right where you can. As mentioned above, ventilation mate...fans aint just for pullin heat off a HID. Plants want and need fresh air.

 

I`m yet to see anything worthwhile come from an LED grow, even the blokes getting what I`d call fair results admit it aint got shit on good HID...and they have $2,000 panels. All in time maybe...who knows ay?

 

And thanks AJ for the sage advice and constructive criticism...

I`m sure GH will be happy when Darryl D gets back and you can go back to humpin` his leg instead.

i think in another 10 years LED's might become popular if they become cheaper and the designers put more effort into getting them to work at this moment there shit comparing HID ot LED is like chalk and cheese currently if u get a 1 foot by 1 foot square LED light it will only cover that amount of area i think this is a big let down once the designers do hit the nail on the head for spectrum i think they need to design the LED lights to spread light instead of boxing in the globes and they need to get rid of those noisy computer fans cooling the lights they are so loud its annoying Edited April 9, 2012 by Gazza2001au

Maybe, but what about those of us who smoke for just the sheer fun and exhilaration of being high?

Will there be a legal way for us?

Most people wish to be high not because of medical reasons and a stealthy method that dosesn't include extreme heat and expensive bills will always be our nirvana.

But it looks as if anything short of HPS doesn't yet help.

hey traceyb i thought maybe be one day australia will follow americas way in medicial marijunana i dont think it will ever be legal to smoke in australia but i think if they bring in something to do with medicial marijuana that the laws in oz should be changed big time until then we can only dream
