The last thing I want to do is post photos on a public forum but from the tone of the responses on here and the PM's I have received (don't hold back guys lol) I don't really have much choice.

I bought into this argument because I'm sick of people rubbishing technology they have never tried, or buying cheap crap which doesn't work then saying all LEDs are crap.

If i receive a knock on the door from doing this I will come back in the next life and haunt you guys lol.

The plants are from 1 meter to 1400 in height, day 40 in flower, plants are AK48, Ehpouria, Super Skunk and the ones that are a day or two from finishing are from a couple of seeds that were an excellent bagseed smoke so I put them outside and to my surprise they flowered so fast that they were finished in January.

I thought the plants were about equal to the same plants I have grown under 600 watt HIDs but after looking at them today the buds look better tighter and some have over two weeks to go. The buds go all the way down.

The lights are Penetrator 1w 336X($1500) and Penetrator 3w 336XPro ($1900).

It was a lot more difficult taking the photos than I thought and honestly they don't do the plants justice.

I realise you can't please every one and now the detractors will focus on price however that really isn't the issue, the point is that LED lights do work and if you can afford to buy one then do it.

The benefits as already discussed are numerous and at the end of the day the light can be resold for close to the retail price, something it's hard to do with HID lights.

wow, the nugs do look good. i can defn afford to buy one.

unfortunatley i dont know that strain or how it would compare in a 600W HPS

?? do you need to runa heater to maintain 23 degrees? becase that would have to factor into the

running cost of the grow.

Other than that I can say that i would mind if this was wonker vision right now,

Id dip my hand in and pull out won of those bad ass crowns.

...so your paying for 300W and getting a 600W size bud out of it?? (plus heating, pump fan etc)

i have been growing a long time only a few of my grows have been posted here so i know the difference when my plants are not growing or growing slowly and that is what the LED light done if u read my thread on the LED grow u would see the pictures and u will also see CFL's worked better than the LED did over 2 weeks

did u pull this out your ass? blink.gif i dont think u have actually tried any new LED grow lights because u would know they are fucking loud and u would also know they are louder than a water pump by a huge amount i had my LED light inside of a tent inside of a insulated modern room and i could clearly hear the fans from outside of the room and this is coming from actually testing not just saying bullshit i even have the pictures to prove ive done this testing so post up your pictures :console: or shut up because this guy will be back on here saying how loud his new LED grow light is in a few weeks time  :surrender if u knew me from reading the forums over the years of being here you'd know i test new items to the market im always keen to dip my toes in new shit i even spent over $170 on the LED light believing all the hype i was reading about them it all came to a huge fail

Hey buddy, I find it a bit amussing that you are prepared to slag this guy off about LED's when he clearly states you get what you pay for. I am new to the growing thing and have just started out. This is my first post and I am yet to post my photos and info on what my set up is but I can tell you one thing for sure, if you paid only $170 or even $200 then that is why you LED lights are shit. I paid allot more than that I am extremly happy with my LED's. In 28 days my plants are bushy and standing proud, leaves are green as green can be and they are looking healthy. I just hope that you are able to keep an opened mind to what is going on out in the world today.

I have friends that use HID and even they are pretty surprised on how well my first grow is doing under LED's. I am yet to get to flowering stage but I will be more than happy to keep you up to date when that happens, but until then I will not make any bullshit stories as I feel this is a place for help and advise not tell porky pies.

Nice work mate, stick to them HID user that just complain and say everything is shit. Times do change and so does the technology but for some people that do not have the ability to READ and look into things because it is too hard they just stick with what they know and just stay in the one place.

If you had the ability to do some research instead of just slaggin off other peoples work you might be able to find the information you would want on LED's here is a little artical on some really smart people that may have an idea on what are they are doing, try to take the time and give it a read it might surprise and might not who knows but I do know they are not thinking of using HID lights in space. http://www.sti.nasa.gov/tto/Spinoff2010/cg_1.html

Check out california lightworks 'solarstorm' models. Have a look at 'growbigtv' on youtube also for some comparison grows including a Blackstar v penetrator grow.

All the panels you can buy on ebay , UFO , 225 panels ect are shit dont bother. If you want to spend 2k check out CLW for sure , theyre running a growers program for u.s buyers where they get it half price for reporting their results that makes the 800w with U.V.B under 1k for them but you can get one for 1900 less import tax.

They are the first i've seen running 5w chipset. Blackstars i think run 3w and they're the cheapest id go.

Id love to see some local results from a big unit but ive gotta say its a bit like buying a 5k TV at the moment , you'll go for a piss and there will be a cheaper bigger better model out when you come back.

Personally i'd wait 12 months and let the yanks prove the tech and start pumping out quality units for less.

Keep us updated

Tac.

Edit . just realised i only read page 1 . hope this still applies!!

Hi Cyclops..I'm just new here and don't like getting into arguments much..

But I loved your pictures and I have purchased a BlackStar LED unit.

Haven't used it yet as I've just moved and I'm having my little house repainted.

But I noticed Gazza2001au asked you if there were HPS or whatever being used

with your LEDs.

Is that correct?

I would like to use just the LEDs and nothing else. With HPS I could get away with using

them throughout the entire cycle.

I will test my Blackstar soon but would like to know the answer to Gazza2001au's question.

On the subject of led I am waiting for some seeds from good old bonza if I get them I am doing two grows of the same seed one 400w hps and the other useing a 120w led set up for flowering so everything else being the same nutes ect. We shall see the difference. The led is from Singapore by a company called led Princess google them and see i think they are the real good ones made specialy for indoor growing they use a combination of red, blue and orange leds for flowering and another specific mainly blue and orange for vedging, They use a combination of .7,1 and 3 watt leds the specs are on the web site i am a sparky so I researched the light output 3,360 lumens (approx 600w hps) for 120watts they do a 300watt grow led as well and can custom make them for you. I know hps works well but I want to see if this is as good as it sounds. Best of all under $300.00 shipped airmail in under 6 days. I turned it on to check it out and its VERY bright, Brighter than a 400w hps I have and dedicated to flowering spectrum. Ok time will tell July or August I will have the proof I will post pictures as they grow especialy if it is ground breaking as its 25% of the power bill. I hope this will help in the debate.
