Can't believe some of the shit that's placed on here.

One guy uses a LED light for just two weeks, gets rid of it but becomes an expert on the subject ........ unbloodybelievable ....

I have been using LEDs for two years and yes if it was based on price alone I would rather use a 600 watt hid. However thats not all there is thats involved.

I first became interested in LEDs because of the heat issue and the use of electricity. In both these cases LEDs totally outdo HIDs.

A plus is that I don't have to buy an air-conditioner or pay the cost of running one.

To my knowledge there are only a couple of companies based in the US that have LEDs suitable for growing, I might also mention the lights are still manufactured in China (theres no getting away from that) however all the components are hand picked and every part of the manufacturing process for these lights is totally under the control of the companies selling them.

I know the owner of my local Hydro store would love to stock LEDs but there are two problems, the ones people would buy are cheap and nasty and if he sold them his reputation would suffer. The good ones, by the time he put his markup on them they would cost half as much again (incidently he uses the same brand I'm currently using) He figures if people want them they will order online.

I do acknowledge that the claim a 300 watt LED is equailvilant to a 1000 watt HPS is over the top, I would say its closer to a 600 watt HPS.

Ok now for the important part. Taking into consideration the variables in each grow (no two ever go exactly the same) I have found the plants/buds grown under a 600 watt hid and a 300 watt LED are the same. I'm not going to publish photos, figure I have already gone a bit far on a public forum.

As for noise, its negligible, whisper quite .... quieter than the pump used for watering.

I also notice the color of the buds is more varied and vibrant even after harvest, don't know what thats about lol but they do look very nice.

If you buy a LED, save the $ and go for the largest, you will always want to go up in size so might as well get it right from the start.

i have been growing a long time only a few of my grows have been posted here so i know the difference when my plants are not growing or growing slowly and that is what the LED light done if u read my thread on the LED grow u would see the pictures and u will also see CFL's worked better than the LED did over 2 weeks

did u pull this out your ass? i dont think u have actually tried any new LED grow lights because u would know they are fucking loud and u would also know they are louder than a water pump by a huge amount i had my LED light inside of a tent inside of a insulated modern room and i could clearly hear the fans from outside of the room and this is coming from actually testing not just saying bullshit i even have the pictures to prove ive done this testing so post up your pictures :console: or shut up because this guy will be back on here saying how loud his new LED grow light is in a few weeks time  :surrender if u knew me from reading the forums over the years of being here you'd know i test new items to the market im always keen to dip my toes in new shit i even spent over $170 on the LED light believing all the hype i was reading about them it all came to a huge fail

I agree LED's have a lot to offer. however atm if u want a good bang for buck go for a HID or even a decent CFL.

The LED's need to be dialed in for teh plant. if they could make them so the frequency could be ajusted then that would be better.

I've seen LED's working really well (photos), the leaf of the plant looked black. To me this ment that all teh light was being absorbed and non reflected.

At other times the leaves had strange purple huges and other colours, so an LED might need to be fine tuned as the plan continues to grow...

18c per kw

4 weeks veg 4 times a year $233

8 weeks flower 4 times a year $311

u will get 3.5 years of growing under a 600w for your $1900

LED 300w half all the prices above i know after actually testing a LED light HID is the only way

keep in mind the LED 300w light from the USA will only cover whats directly under the LED's unlike HID the LED's only point down and is not directed outwards so your comparing chalk to cheese the LED light would have to have a surface area atlease 3x3 foot to cover a 4x4 foot area that the 600w HID covers

Id love do run comparison tests and grow studies, so If u all wanna sposer my retirment Ill settle this once and for all.

Id be intersted in the band of LED you are using Cyclops, the last one I had a look at was the "Penetrator" lol yup!

The price was the final deterrent. and my needs would require teh 400w not the 200w

dunno why there are two tabs 'click' on the EXTEME LED tab 1900 for a 300W
