Step 1 : for big fat healthy plants, move to Qld and begin planting

as said above, do some reading on the forums here, there is a crap load of information. then if you have any specific questions, post them up and we will help you out.

but the main thing you need to know to be a successful grower is:

GOOD SEEDS + GOOD SOIL + GOOD NUTRIENTS + GOOD SUNLIGHT + PLENTY OF WATER = LOTS OF GOOD WEED!

yea, Cannabis can be grown outdoors in Melbourne....check out the sites on here, the're not that hard to grow....

The paranoia is the hardest thing to master.... :ermm: that's all I'II say...

But by the way... if I had 15ft. plants growing, (edit; (bufo marinus...nice!), I'd surely be building a tree house in one of them ........

G'day Bogus,

I am also an amateur grower, Have a good look around on the forums they will become your best friend. Any info you need to find just type it in on the search bar.

With your backyard you don't want to be adding too many ingredients unless you know what your doing or else you can over do things. I learnt this the hard way. Remeber less is more.

If you are using plain old soil in your backyard, Try getting a shovel and giving your soil a good till, Add some lime to neutralise p.h, slow release organic fertiliser like blood & bone or Dynamic lifter & if you can get them worm castings.

I find worm castings to be magic for my babies, Cause I am not the most experienced grower this works well for me.

You can use manure instead of the slow release fertiliser but it has to be composted for several months prior to use.

Here's some newbie tips that helped me:

1. Don't over complicate things.

2. Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance

3. Make sure P.h is always correct.

4. Don't put plants in clear pots

5. Don't over water

6. Don't under water

7. Don't over fertilise

8. Don't plant seeds, Plant seedlings

9. Go organic

10. Always keep an eye out for mold

11. Throw away hermaphrodites & males unless you want seeds

12. Plant at the right time of year

13. Have some form of wind on your plants so they can strengthen the stems (Don't want stretched, Weak plants)

14. Don't tell no one

15. Don't overspend money

16. Start with 25% recommended dosage (For Fertiliser) and work your way up

17. Make sure plants will fit in your desired area

18. Try different methods to maximize yeild eg. Topping, Fimming, LST, Supercrop, Scrog etc

19. Keep an eye out for pests

20. Love your plants!

Hope I helped you out a bit & Enjoy your time growing.
