Ground Vine

Recommended Posts

I have seen some plants that when they reach a certain height you bend them over, make a small cut near a node and pin it down and cover the cutted area with soil. The result is it produces roots which you cut and have a new plant.

The question is can this be done to Mj but train the plant to vine along the ground, instead of produces new plants, just have one long vine? :)

If you tip it it wont grow much more on the main stem - the branches will start growing. If you tie the branches down they can stay st the same height but when you bud them theyll probably hit the dirt so tie them up as well as down if you do this.

How low did you want the plants to stay?

yeah mate you can just progressively pin the main growing stem down and then any branches that get too high as well to grow it along the ground like a vine. I've seen plenty of pics around the net of outdoor plants growing this way, and is an excellent idea if you need to keep it behind a fence or hedge or something.

watch for stem rot if your stems are touching the ground. You can also get your plant to root in more than one place. say for example a few feet down you tie down the stem hard to the ground, apply rooting hormone and cover with moist soil it may root. More root systems = bigger yields. Just remember to water at all the root sites :)

hey guys, i'm experimenting with a ground vine myself at the moment.

i'm wondering at what stage would you stop tying down?

like, would you stop when she starts to bud or futher into heading stage?

i'm pretty sure it's about 75% sativa. well, that's how it looks at the moment.

i really would like to keep it to a max hight of about 3 ft.

I want to see this vine when its flowering. :D

Does anyone have any pics of a very low and very wide plant? Or how about one that has been shaped in some way?

Christmas tree shaped plants are beautiful but theyre pretty boring. ;)
