The reasons I use cannabis for medicinal purposes... (all stated in article)
I have a chronic, undiagnosed gastric illness which has caused me to be unable to keep foood down for nearly four years, I'm basically on an all fluid diet. I vomit up to 50 times a day on a bad day but usually about 10. I have constant nausea, abdominal pain caused by stomach errosion and muscle spasms. I'm also asthmatic and sometimes while vomiting it induces asthma attacks too.
*NAUSEA RELIEF - I have almost constant nausea
*MUSCLE SPASMS - My stomach muscles spasm as I vomit very hard
*ASTHMA - Cannabis clears lungs
*SLEEP AND RELAXATION - I overheat very quickly and cannabis lowers blood pressure and therefore cools me down
*TO INCREASE APPETITE - I no longer have one due to my stomach being so small, the only time I eat is when I have the munchies and just need food. But I pay for it later. I also need to eat every now and then as I have lost 40kgs in nearly 4 years, 30 of those came off in the first 6 months (I was only a casual smoker then). Not that this has anything to do with it but to prove I'm not dead because of cannabis here's some more info... I Was Victorian Under 17 Weightlifting champ, built like a brick shithouse, now there's not much of me... I'm like Nicole Richie on crack but surviving thanks to McDonald's 24 hr stores
Plenty more but that article is a great read... thanks for the post!!!
I'm new to this sight so sorry if this was an old post I feel a bit blown away by the similarities in our symptoms
I have chronic nausea, headaches, sweats, fatigue and vertigo... and for 5 yrs I too went undiagnosed.
I really wanted to let you know where I'm at medically now, I think it might be of interest to you. I finally went to my doc and put the skids on her turning me into the pill monster, thats one rollercoaster all chronically ill people should avoid at all costs, try to remember, when you place your trust in one of these so called professionals, many of them are just upmarket drug pushers for the pharmasuitical industry. These docs do not care about the plethora of drugs they prescribe, and as a consequence, we as patients end up taking drugs to treat the side-effects of other drugs.... Sorry, slight rave
I have been under the care of a really switched on Gastroentronologist (Stomach bloke) and as a consequence have been diagnosed with Gastroparesis. This condition causes all of the symptoms you suffer from. The only way to diagnose this condition in through a test called "gastric emptying study." Maybe you G.P. may even be able to order the test, but I would ask for a referral to a specialist like this guy.
Gastroparesis basically means that you stomach can't digest food as quickly as it should, so the food sits undigested in the upper gut area. This makes the stomach contract into a tight ball, make to much acid and bile, and make you feel really crook. It can be mild to really acute and chronic.
He has got me on the RIGHT medication, and though I'm not completely cured yet, I am feeling so much better every day, along with the help of my bestie Potsky of course.
I really hope you get to see this post, I would love to be able to, you know, pass it on. I hope this helps and keep on going, it's all we can do.

Telling people to smoke weed as treatment for depression and mental illness is extremely irresponsible.
While cannabis IS an effective pain reliever, it works on PHYSICAL pain.
Cannabis has been scientifically proven time and time again to exacerbate mental illness and depression....it makes it worse. Mental illnesses are genetic, and THC "turns on" the genes responsible for producing altered chemical states in the mind, and thus the genes that cause disease.
If you have a mental illness or depression, go see your GP or a psychologist, dont smoke weed. And dont listen to the fool who started this topic.

New to the site and like it a lot
When I found that MJ gave me the best sleep ever, it was all over hehe. But that's certainly not the only reason I enjoy the green. Total relaxation and relieving back pain are others.
But one of the greatest benefits is the laughter. Nothing like a big fatty and a guffaw when watching an episode of Family Guy!
