Recommended Posts

Hi all, this is my first post here at ozstoners, I'd just like to say thanks to the community, its amazing the amount of useful info on this site and im learning more and more each day.

So im attempting my first grow, just 1 or 2 plants is the plan at the moment enough for a nice personal stash.

Here is my 2 week old seedling, sorry about the poor quality

This is a feminised Nirvana Pure Power Plant, just in some Amgrow Organix Potting Mix, im thinking il add about 20% perilte to the soil when i transplant.

Iv got her outside during the day and inside at night as the days are already really hot here where i live in North East NSW, already reaching 30 degrees but quite cool at night still, iv been watering small amounts of water twice a day the soil drys out really fast.

just got a few questions, is this potting mix ok anything i should know about it? should i be watering less maybe just once a day in the evening maybe ? how big should she be before i transplant and should i just transplant straight into the big pot or something a bit smaller to start with?

Thanks all, SS

big welcomes to you Schnitzel Stoner :applause:

hey i dunno that potting mix , but looking @ the babe she looks like she is thriving , i would not change too much what you are doing, maybe once a day water is ok too

as aj says going from wet to dry and back to wet again is ideal, but hey you know the relative temps amd climate so work accordingly

i dont believe sifting the potting mix is a good idea at all,

a good balanced soil needs particles of different sizes to stop the soil compacting in pots and to facilitate good aeration within the soil structure

i wouldnt go to a bigger pot until the roots have filled the pot they are in ... how do you know when plant is ready to transplant? ..

well alot of this comes with experience , but as a general rule when there are many roots bursting out the bottom of the pot is a good sign the plant is looking for the next size up pot

i reckon you are doing a good job so keep up the good work. maybe start a diary with pics so everyone can put in their 2cents worth

you will get a wide range of different opinions and can filter thenm to suit your own conditions

all da best with 'em

:peace:
