Advice for my cabinet (2nd Grow)

Recommended Posts

Dude I have 400w cupboard .6x.6x2m, it's mostly used for pre-flower, as in I chuck a plant in there to start it flowering if there is not going to be room in the bighouse for aweek. It runs fine temp wise, hot in summer but ok. No cooltube or can fan very cheap to setup. Had alot of heat issues at first, this is how I fixed mine.

The cupboard is hard up against the ceiling, so I cut a 250mm hole through into the roof, ran 250mm acoustic ducting 6m length into roof cavity. I placed 2 x 250mm kitchen exhaust fans inside the ducting about 600mm apart (helps with noise). 1 fan runs 24/7 the other comes on with the light. Together they suck hard, have a ribbon in the cupboard to check airflow, with 1 fan the ribbon is lifted, with the 2nd on it is sucked into ducting. The passive inlet at the bottom of the back wall is 300x400mm. It all came good when I trimmed the shade, the fuckin thing was to big and did not let enough air past, I cut it back to nothing. 100mm each side and drilled some 20mm holes along the top of shade to let the air pass the lamp. by reducing the shade it dramatically changed the flow and have had no probs since & it did not have hardly any effect on how much lite the plants get.

Hope this helps Vrod.

Thanks all, the advice has been really useful,

Decided to get

6" INLINE 155 WATT CENTRIFUGAL EXHAUST VENT FAN BLOWER ( 450CFM) $135

http://www.aussieponics.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=168

I am not getting a cool tube at the moment, i want to see how the fan goes with temps before i consider getting one, i might cut some of my shade as mentioned above to see if that helps. if not i might save for a cool tube/ cool hood.

ill get a carbon filter in a couple of months when i go to flower. maby a silencer sooner if i need it, luckily my space does not need to be very stealthy, the place it is in i am going to lock off.

My plants will breathe better thanks to yall, time to put some beans in water :)
