powdery fungus

Recommended Posts

hi, hoping someone can help me, I noticed this white powdery growth on my plants about a week ago, it is on the leaves and stems of mature plants that i am growing in perlite under 400's in a closed cupboard. I have a fan in there, and water usually about 3 times every 24 hr period. I've taken a couple of pics, hopefully someone can give me some advice on how to get rid of it, because i am in the middle of a pick and dont want to put my new clones in a potentially diseased environment.

Thanks

Hey man i just went over your post again, you said you water 3 times a day? i'm only a noob but i think thats abit to excessive, i water every 2-3days, could be why your getting fungal problems to much moisture/humidity

good luck!

watering too much for sure, wait till it's pretty dry before re-watering.

Chuck a humidity meter in there so you can tell us the humidity.

Do you have a fan extracting the air? Seems to me like you are growing in a cupboard with just a oscillating fan in there. If so, that's not going to work. Have a read of some grow diaries to brush up on what is required for indoor growing.

Fresh air is important, correct humidity also important. You've got them growing which is good, just need to start fine tuning your setup.

How about a pic of the plant/s in the cupboard (with the hps off)?

Naycha :peace:

thanks for the replies, i've got a fan up the top of the cupboard, and an extractor fan about level with the base of the plants,(fans are the cpu fans used in computers ) i've been growing this way for about 6 years ( in the cupboard) but never seen anything like this before. I'm about to put the new clones in the cupboard and i need to know if this is going to affect them, should i be fumigating the cupboard with anything first?

and no, no water over the plants themselves, i've got a watering system set up,and one 400 in the cupboard.

All I can suggest is to up the airflow although that won't get rid of the fungus you already have.

Seems strange though if you have been growing like this for so long with no problems. Can you think of anything that has changed between this and the last grow?

I wouldn't put healthy plants in there till you have it sorted.
