How large should the holes be?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm preparing for an outdoor grow - I'll be planting 5 Pure Power Plants - and I'm just wondering how big the holes should be?

My plan was for 3ft wide x 1.5ft deep each hole, and fill it up some some soil I purchased from a local nursery - so far I have carted around 500L of the stuff to my guerilla spot out of 1200L, it's very hard work! (The other 300L is perlite which I already have out there).

I was just wondering if these holes are the right size. I know soil is something that shouldn't be skimped out, and I want to grow monsters :)

Also, I'm thinking about carting dog shit from our dogs out to the site whenever I go out there, will this keep kangaroos / wallabies / whatever else away from my ladies?

Thanks

Yeah smashed is right, spread dog shit around the plot, that should help keep pests away. Personally I recon 3ft across is unnecessary , if anything dig deeper instead of wider, the roots will be encouraged to grow down rather than out......it will make the plant stronger and help with drought tolerance, making it a little more bearable than all the water she already needs, especially if your going guerilla.
