when do you back off your nutes?

Was just wondering when you guys back off yer nutes? Do you back them off?

Im currently on 2.1 ec at week 4. Using potash and bloom nutes. They are fast becoming the biggest nugs ive grown by far, im hoping they dont end up airy but everything seems to be fine heat, exhuast and RH wise.

Was just wondering what week, if you do it, do you back the nutes off? How much do you drop ec wise?

 

Im also going to use pk13/14 at week 6 and drop the potash from then on till end.

 

Hope this makes sense, would really dig some input to help make this a real cracker of a grow.

Hi Fread,

Personally, once the trichs have browned twice to three times I stop all nutes and use straight pH adjusted tapwater. I don't do a gradual cutback of nutes just a straight change from nutes to no nutes. Mine is a recirc system and each day I throw the water out and refresh again with pH adjusted tapwater. I do this for 3-5 days usually. I have found that the trichs don't brown up as quickly once you start the final flush so once I'm about 50/50 brown trichs the flush starts. Max 5days later its all up. Some people like to chop the tops and allow the under growth to mature a bit more, but I strip out the under growth prior to going 12/12 so there is bugger all under growth to worry about and less cleaning of poxy little popcorn bud. But that's me and others will have other ideas.

For a primo smoke you MUST flush. The taste of a flushed smoke is much more refined.

i run a EC of 2.0 untill the last 3 weeks of flower,then i run a EC of 1.2..i usually start flushing in the last week..oh i use coco noir as my medium.

Hey guys thanks for the replies much appreciated. I always flush for about 4 to 5 days, but yeah thanks for your thoughts on this. was looking at the canna grow guide and noticed they recommend to go down in EC about 3/4 of the way thru flower, cant remember exactly now, but its only a minor drop, i think from 2.2 to 1.9.

Now weather thats entirely the result of dropping an additive or not at that stage im not sure, i think it is. So yeah i will proly just leave things until the last 2 weeks then back them down to 1.2 as mentioned and then flush.
