Hi everyone,

I'm a new grower from Victoria Australia. I don't want to say too much so ill get straight to the point.

For my next grow I am going Organic Outdoors. But firstly I thought I would get everyones knowledgable Help & Advice.

Oright that was a titload to take in when I'm this cooked but regardless I shall attempt to reply.

Firstly with the whole promoting fungi and bacteria in your soil, don't go nuts about it. I personally dont try and encourage to much fungi action in my soil as last year the 3 plants which I fed molasses to which does exactly that (feed fungus), all three plants were infected by mould. I'm not saying there was a direct correlation between the two but if your in an area of Vic where the summers can get quite cold before most of our ladies finish flowering and if it can tend to rain on and off, I wouldn't go nuts about it.

Your soil mix sounds great however keep in mind the beauty of organics is how simple it can be for an excellent finished product, so don't get too carried away with everything. I personally use for in ground mix,

A good quality organic potting soil

Searles 5 in 1 (I highly reccomend this,) http://www.searle.com.au/SoilMixesComposts.html

Worm Castings

Water Crystals

And some dolomite lime to help things out.

All I do is let it cook for 1-2 months, let the pH balance out and then she's ready to grow. I know this is most likely missing some elements but it gets great results. For a reference, if you like and can be bothered sourcing all the ingredients, look at this guys soil recipe. Its famous for organic cannabis growers and SubCool is a renowned organic grower that knows a hell of a lot about organic growing........have a browse on the 'roll it up' forums in the organic section, there's a whole section where he teaches, posts advice and answers questions. This is the soil recipe by the way https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners.com/topic/19323-subcools-super-soil/page__hl__subcool+soil

For fertilisers it can be quite difficult what to choose. For veg I just use SeaSol, which I highly reccomend....and organic Charlie Carp as its high in N. For bloom I still use a ltitle Seasol and Bio Flores which you also mentioned. It was the first time I'd used it and I thought it produced great results.......as in I was very happy with the end product...........not sure if that was just the genetics but either way it did something good so I'll continue to use it.

Your tea mix sounds good but remember to keep it simple, don't worry if you miss some things here and there, just worm castings as a tea works great.

Remember with weed less is more!

Hope that helps.

yea Sgt. Scraps is right on the money, perhaps take his advice onboard this time around and im sure your results will not be wanting from poor soil

dont try to make this harder and more complicated than what it has to be

start adding all kind of concoctions to the soil immediately changes the soil chemistry, PH, beneficial biotas etc and takes months to stabilise the soil mantle again

if you said you where doing this six months before growing then yes it would be great

green manure crops should have been planted last autumn , its too late for this coming season,(by all means use them as a mulch on top of soil such as Lucerne etc. which will gradually break down and feed the plant, conserve moisture and keep roots cool)

And Maybe Advanced Nutrients Pirahna & Tarantula

unless these are 100% organic they too will harm the flora of the soil ,(maybe try dynamic lifter pelletized animal manure for slow release, or some brands of organic Rose fertilizer slow release)

its just a weed that grows wild in rich and poor soils alike

all the best with it :peace:

Hey Sargentscraps,

Cheers for all the help, as it is exactly what im after.

I will definately get my self some searles 5 in 1 plus as it sounds amazing.

I am going to and keep my nutrients and soil recipe as simple as possible as i want the least amount of problems occurring for my babies.

I will get my soil all mixed up and let it start cooking asap. Ill check the P.h regularly and make sure its not all over the place come Melbourne Cup Day,(Plantation Day).

As for the Worm castings, Seasol, Charlie Carp & Dolomite Lime, I had already purchased these items a couple of months ago.

So ill be sure to use those for my next grow.

& Good old Subcool i have actually checked out a couple of his posts and videos a while back, and the guy knows his shit, and his soil recipe is spot on.

Once again thanks for the help.

G'day Frazz,

Cheers for all the help, I will be sure to follow your's & Sargentscraps advice.

I will be staying clear of the molasses, as I dont want any mould!

& 6 months to let the soil mantle stabilise, that's Crazy. I think in the future Im gonna have to let my soil mix for at least 6 months then.

Shattered about the green manure crops, but once again in the future I will get them planted several months prior to planting my babies.

But I think might even get some green manure crops planted at my home, just to improve my garden.

And turns out I have a bag of Dynamic lifter organic pellets just sitting in the backyard waiting to be used. So Ill be sure to use some of that in my soil.

When I use the dynamic lifter pellets should i just follow the instructions on the bag or have you had better results adding more or less?

Once again Thanks for the help.

yea Aussie T i use the Dynamic lifter during the vegetative growth period on top of the soil, 2 hand fulls, when i water just pour water over pellets and it takes the nutes down to the roots, its totally organic and ive never seen it 'burn' a plant cause its really low concerntration, NPK analysis: 3.7 – 2 – 1.8,

and with the green manure crops you can grow them in a different part of the garden and harvest them and use as mulch around base of plants its good ,

in general its good to grow manure crops where the plants grow over autumn/winter and then dig them back into the soil but this year ya wont have time to do that, but thats ok you are keen enuf and you got the basics im sure it will be a good grow for you

Hi again Frazz,

I am going to do this later on in the day. The earlier i get my soil started the better.

Thanks for the instructions on the dynamic lifter, good news to hear it wont be burning my plants.

Ive just been reading up on Dynamic lifter on some other forums, a lot of people seem to be having great results with it too. It seems to be the way to go.

For flowering I will use Dynamic Lifter for roses as 'Reverend' mentioned.

& The green manure crops, I will get them growing over the next Autumn/Winter, unfortunately Im too late this year. So Ill worry about all that in the future.

Cheers again for all the help,
