Cannabis crop found during bushfire.

A large cannabis crop has been uncovered during a bushfire in north Queensland.

Police say authorities stumbled on the cannabis crop while putting out a grass fire at Clairview, 120 kilometres south of Mackay, on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire had ignited in a yard and grassy area surrounding a house on the Bruce Highway and then in nearby bushland.

Police say three separate crops of cannabis plants, some of which had allegedly been deliberately lit, were found.

The house was saved and no one was injured.

A 22-year-old Clairview man has been charged with attempted arson, setting fire to crops and growing plants, producing and possessing dangerous drugs.

He is due to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court on Thursday.
