Ceramic Metal Halide

Recommended Posts

I saw these new globes somewhere on the net, they are apparently a HPS arc tube enclosed within the gases of a MH bulb. Phillips are the only company to make them as far as I know, they are said to provide the best spectrum for growth, both veg and flower but have their restrictions in that they need a high quality analog ballast and must be close to perfectly horizontal or you risk burn out.

Here's a link:

Anyone have any experience with these?

And with the strong aus dollar atm i was thinking why not.

I have a reasonably new JB 400w ballast which are pretty good quality so i think i'll give it a go.

Thanks elwood i appreciate your thanks mate .. you know why .. i had just put a fruit-cake in the oven and whilst waiting for it I became so absorbed in these different globes that time just flashed by ..

before i knew it i could smell burning! ..

well the cake is a total write-off, black as an African's butt-crack! .. chooks like it though, 'spose there will be sultanas in the fucking eggs next

anyways back to the globes, yea elwood im sure we all would be really interested in any first-hand experience with these globes

and at the listed price and allowing for exchange rate even with postage they wouldnt cost much more than local if any ..

ive got nothing planned for indoor till next year, but i would like to give the globes a whirl for sure ..

well let us know how you get on wont ya?

all da best

:peace:

so i contacted the site that i provided the link for and they don't ship to australia. My local hydro store doesn't stock them either.
