Seeds again..

Hey People,

 

First post and just have to say kudo's to the moderators and any one else involved with this site..... im addicted.

 

After seeing what my mate grew on his balcony last month and smoking it with delight, Ive realized ive been wasting

money on crappy hydge that I never want to smoke again.

 

Im doing my home work and getting ready for some guerrilla action.

 

We use to grow bag seed back in highschool, like 15 yrs ago, and after getting busted and getting ripped off so a few times.

This time around I trust absolutely no one now. Also Have not seen a seed for years, and had no idea about the seed banks...derh to me.

 

My main objective is order (Skunk#1) , I have no choice except get the seeds sent to my house and take the chance.

I only want to do the once or twice. I want to have a grow where firstly I get alot of seeds so I have my own seed bank

to keep me growing annually. Is there a rule for getting started ?

 

I breed fish so I know what the gene pool is about but im still a little hazy about getting it right the first time.

I want to keep the plants gene pool strong.

 

Hopefully this makes sence, ive watched dozens of videos and been reading countless posts. Somehow ive missed the plain obvious somewhere?

 

Not telling any one thats easier enough, but its great to know im not alone with Oz Stoners...

hey welcome mate..... First buy seeds then clone from that..... Don't worrie about breeding until u get a few grows under ya belt. Much quicker from clone too..... You can sort ya genetics out that way.....

Cheer's mate, your right... great advice. I have to rememeber one step at a time. Skunk#1 seems to be the most common strain that is recommended thats i see pop up?

Ive been slowly going through page after page, taking notes, trying to figure out something easy to grow and truthfully something that doesnt stant out like the obvious?

Thanx for the advice and any help is appreciated... gunna be fun this year ;-)

No worries mate, best time of the year to gather info and start. You seem to be on the right track. Check out The Tree Bound Rats thread if ya haven't yet... Good info on guerilla, but you don't have to go as hardcore as him.....

Skunk No1 is a perfect strain for the beginner or the seasoned pro, great stone and easy to grow with a fast finish time.

 

Making your own seeds is piss easy. You simply collect pollen from the male flowers when they have just burst on a sheet of paper and put it in some clippy bags. Divide the pollen up into several bags to minimize the risk of getting moisture in your one and only bag of pollen and losing it.

Then when the females are well and truly flowering after a couple of weeks you dust the stigmas with the pollen using a paint brush.

If you did it right then you will have a bumper crop of seeds when they finish flowering.

 

Indoors it's pretty easy to collect the male pollen as you can shut the fans off, outside it can be a bit trickier with the wind etc
