Just thought I'd throw up a few pics of the new cactususususus i got today.

6 x original san pedro, 3 x original peruvian, 5 x peyote (3 of 1 strain, 2 others are seperate strains)

Sorry about the blurry pics this video camera is no good for stills.

edit : ones in round pots are peyote, ones in the box are san pedro, ones laying on the table are peruvian

anyone that has san pedro/peruvian, do you know if it will live in pots outdoors?

it would be easy for me to leave them out in the rain once their rooted, it is possible for them to die from being left out in the rain over winter?

I would be using 25% perlite and 75% cactus mix when i repot them.

The peyote will probably be left under the patio as they dont take up much space. Guessing i will need to handwater them once in a while?

Nice cacti Phreakah, I'm wondering if the peyote are fully seed grown or degrafted and if you don't mind how much you paid for them? I have both pedro and pervian outdoors in pots and in the ground. If you get a lot of rain I would move the pots under cover for a while. I water my peyote fairly regularly except for over winter, and occasionally I give them some hydro nutes when I empty out the system. One thing to be careful of is if you let your cacti get fairly dry over winter you shouldn't give them a big watering at first as they may swell and split.

Thanks for sharing, I love cacti.

Those lophophora are of a decent size, in particular that one on the far right, she is a beauty. Did the person you buy them off actually state that they were Lophophora williamsii? The reason I ask is that I know a few ethnobots that try and pawn Lophophora diffusa and L. fricii off as peyote when in fact the have no mescalin alkaloids in them, pretty much look the same until they flower at age 12-15yo. That big button you have on the right would be about 4-5 years old and worth about $70-100 if it is L williamsii. 6 of those that size is what you need for a good session.

Being any Lophophora species is completely legal to grow and propagate in VIC, NSW and QLD for ornamental purposes only, do you mind if I ask were you got them from as all I have at the moment is 150 little seedlings and would love to find a mature mother williamsiii to grab more seeds from.

@buegeman your grafting would work to make the Lophophora increase in size faster but it does not take with it, it's potency in mescalin....in fact it is pretty much near on a dud plant. the only reason one that is into Lophophora for its psychoactive properties is to speed up a mother plant to reach adult hood to get seeds from, but if you sucked on her rind it would be nothing but a vomit fest with no reward.

Naycha - no idea if they were seed grown or degrafted. Thanks for the tip about not overwatering

harold - yes the person stated it was L williamsii "sierra della pailla"

Anyways here are a few new pics - enjoy. some have been potted up, some new types introduced since the last pics.

Cheers!

edit: by the way, can anyone identify the one with the thick white spines for me? - front left of pic 006.jpg (3rd pic)
