Plant dying after bringing it inside.

Recommended Posts

About a month or so I planted a WW on the balcony and she was looking lovely until the other day when I got a 600HPS lighting for her. The light was placed maybe 30-40 centimetres away from the plant. I left the lights on for about 18 hours and when I was back home I checked on it and half of it was drying up. The soil wasn't dry at all and it didn't seem hot either, plus I had a fan on. I don't know if the plant went into shock or something but I'm not happy and being this is my first grow I'm not really sure what to do now so I placed it outside to see if it can recover.

Could it be that the light was way too close and is it possible to save this plant now or would it be a waste of time?

Sorry for the shitty picture and thanks for all the help in advance.

There was no fertilizer added just the soil it was in from the very beginning, nothing was changed just the light added. After doing more research which I should of done in the first place I found a chart but then again it seems to be that I was in the safe range and the plant shouldn't have burnt, so I'm going to put the lamp at the max optimum height (which is at 28'' from the plant) and see how it goes and I guess lower it a little by little once I see the her getting better.

That doesn't look too bad, probably just shocked from the temp difference and the new spectrum of light. I once heard that only new growth on the plant will "like" a new type of light source, because the old growth has been used to the sun in your situation. But I'm not sure how true that is. It also wasn't used to getting 18 hours of light per day.
