In another post I mentioned my intention to breed.

 

My current situation is this. I only have two varities of seed, one has hermaphroditic tendancies, the other I have not tried growing yet, but judging by its source, is nothing special ( will find out next outdoor season for sure). The dream of ordering seeds from a seedbank, nice, quality, jucy, delicious genetics, may not become realized, for fear of retribution by the law. Discounting the prospect of obtaining superior genetics, I am left with but one option..

 

Breeding what ive got.

 

Through selective breeding, I should be able to, over time ( 10-20 years.. hahahaha..) increase desired traits, taste, smell, potency, ect until I have something which is of respectable quality.

 

What I want to know is, how do I do this? How realistic is the possibility of having something of note of higher quality then when I began? Is 20 generations too little? Am I dreaming?

 

I am left with little option... I have the basic horticultural knowledge needed, I just need the specifics of what to do to selective breed and achieve the end result.

If you're that desprate, I would just buy from a seedbank. Got a friend who is a business owner? Have it sent there... They sign for a lot of crap on a daily basis... That's how I get my shit!

here`s a very quick description of how i think it should go

 

in order to find and stabilize the straits you`re looking for, ya gonna need a lot of plants

the idea is to grow out as many as possible (like fuckn heaps) and then find a few that ya looking for(at least one plant for each characteristic) .....eg; smell, structure, potency, pace, weight.....(ideally you`re looking for all these traits in one plant - but that wont be the case straight away)

the way to determine this is to grow the plants and take cuttings from each one and label each cutting to correspond with the donor plants....then strike em(get em rooted)

then keep the donor plants in vegetative stage while you flower out the the cuttings(set the cuttings to bloom/bud).....you can vegitate the cuttings for a week or so before turning them in order to make em a bit bigger.

as the cuttings are flowering, take not of their structure, pace, aroma, color and sex.

if you get a heap of males .....kill em before they pop(spread their pollen)....but keep the male donors!!

once they`re finished, smoke em or cook and eat em to decide which ones are strongest.

 

now, once you`ve decided which is the best female...take note and leave it in the vegitative stage

once you`ve found the perfect female you need to take cuttings from all the male donors.....same as before

root em, veg em up and then flip em to bloom....same as before, take note of pace, structure, aroma, color and trichomes(rezen glands) .....once they`re finished, smoke a bit of each one to determine the potency.

 

once you`ve found the ideal male and female plants...kill all the undesired ones so ya dont get confused

now that you have both required parent plants, take cuttings off each and strike em like before.....veg em up a bit(say 2 weeks - but depends on ya style) then switch the female cuttings to bloom....reserving the male cuttings in the vegetative area.

 

after the female cuttings have been in the bloom room for 2 weeks, add the male cuttings.....the male cuttings will turn to bloom a lot faster than the girls

once the male cuttings have flipped and popped onto the girls, get it/them out.......but leave the girls to fully finish

 

and there ya have it, ya got ya self a batch of F1s

crossed some pollen from male flowers I got off a female white rhino with 2 purple varities , one that tastes like jellybeans and another white rhino .....waiting for next season to see how they go

 

might have to just bite the bullet and just buy some new seeds . hate spending money hey haha

sorry to be the party-pooper but you cannot trade sell swap or give any part of Cannabis here @ OzStoners that includes pollen too

hey yeah and then we would have a shitload of scammers selling dirt pollen to "pollen chuckers" who would flood the communities with unstable genetics which they have no idea about

they could even give em stupid names like Skunk#2000 or AutoMagic and charge people an arm n leg for em
