LOSS OF POWER!

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I am an electrician. I often get asked by people how to do stuff like `splicing' into circuits, and even by-passing meters so that you can get free power.

I know how to do both, but I don't recommend it to anyone. Even tho I know what I am doing, I occasionally get a `belt' out of something that should be dead. It takes years of training and experience to identify potential hazards, or problems that could develop in the future.

In my grow room, I just have a couple of power points that I protect with an RCD (Residule Current Device). I then just plug in a couple of cheap power boards and timers, but pay atention to them being mounted where they can not be easily disturbed, or wet. In the future I will build an automated PLC controlled system, but for the time being the timers from Big W will do.

i was thinking of bypassing the box, but a mate got busted once and the cop told him that it was because of him doing that??

can they really tell?

yeah, sudden drop in power usage, or an active house that uses way below the norm. Thats what the power companies care about most and what they are most suspiscious of. They're in it for the money after all, so don't worry about big power bills as long as you pay them
