Questions about LED's

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what voltage (watts) and size, i.e. how many individual diodes (eg. 250?) it would take to grow two plants in a small bathroom 2.6m x 2.5m x 1.6m? Would the lack of heat effect plant growth if grown during winter temps 6c-22c ? The big plus is the ratio of blue and red light for growing and flowering, but what are the negatives, aside from cost? Thanks.

Mazatec best thing to do is your own research, its been discussed endlessly on other forums, just use google; I do not think there are really any negatives other than the cost, as long as you find the right manufacturer.

Really would just be easier to find a 250watt HPS for a couple of small plants, it really is going to be no less a hassle than a led panel and so much cheaper.

Heya man, most people here know I'm not big on Led's and unless you understand light colour output of Leds suited to plants it will be a long road with lots to learn if you wanna make your own.

Kessel just released a new range of H350 led lighting that is 90w high output led's that are vapour cooled. Purple and magenta seem to be the gofor flowering, not sure, maybe they still use red and blue for veg. You probably still need about 3-4 of these to get good amounts of light and penetration for cannabis in 1mx1m to about 1.5mx1.5m regardless of the sales speel bullshit the manufacturer may tell you.

That would give you about the same amount of useable plant lighting as a 600w hid. Could be a costly exercise though, be warned.

Using leds under 5w is pointless they have no punch and the cheap panels and stuff on ebay are a joke, you pay top dollar for led's that actually work.

Hope that helps. Peace. Gh72
