Hi if we are taking about medicinal use of a herb surely smoking would have no part, or minimum part, to play in that. Pumping toxic tar ridden fumes into your lungs is a recipe for disaster and ill health. I can't remember when was the last time I smoked a joint of basil.

Even recreational users get a far better stone of ingestion thru the colon?

What are your thoughts?? If any..

OK so the poor bastard at deaths door who cannot chew may have a point but for the rest why not munch on cookies? That way the health police cannot rave on..and we all avoid nasty oxidants either actively or passively.

The long old battle over eating vs smoking.

 

There are many pros and cons for both.

 

Although one may think that there's a tar benefit of eating instead of smoking, but remember you're also injesting chlorophyll which can be fatal to the human in large doses.

 

Smoking has an added bonus of having a quicker absorption rate than eating.

 

There really is no benefit from one to the other. It's the users personal choice. Whether you like a really long stone that takes about an hour to take hold, or whether you like the quick intense stone of eating.

 

It's up to you.

Hi earthrepair and welcome to ozstoners, my mum works with a lot of people that are dieing and have a lot of bad shit happening to the were thay are suffering from 1 thing or another,most of the people she sees are on mj for what ever there problum is (i asked her this) out of all the people she sees that are takeing mj how many smoked and how many ate mj she did know at the time so she stated to ask and she found out that over half smoked it to get to get the releaf strat away as thay could not wait for the mj to get into there system from eating it to help them with there problum, i was talking to mum last night and she told me that she brout this up at were she works the other day and all her work mates are now looking into it as soon as mum knows any thing she said she will get back to me and let me know what she found out witch to me sounds very interesting.

 

p.s sorry ppl if this sounds like babble at the moment as i have had i toooooo many mj beers :)

scuzz what are you talking about? injesting plant matter with chlorophyll can be toxic????? man you come up with some weird shit sometimes :)

Yeah, first I heard that eating too much lettuce could kill me... I thought we were supposed to eat our greens?

 

Scuzz, I'm not trying to be harsh or nuthin, but I must agree with pipeman on this... you do come out with some straaaaaange statements on occasion... oh well, if we all made sense it would be a chartered accountants site, not a MJ growing one... hee hee.

 

And yeah, on the eating vs smoking... another benefit of smoking or vapourising... (didn't consider that one, did ya earthrepair... could be a serious option for those who can't smoke but don't like eating) is that when you smoke, you can quickly titrate or regulate your dose... As soon as you've had a cone, you pretty much know how stoned you're going to get... or you can at the least put it down for a while and stop... Once that MJ cookie gets into ya tho, "It's a rollercoaster ride to nowhere with a madman at the wheel...." or I think the quote went something like that. You can't reduce the dose once you've taken it, so too little, and you have to wait another hour or so before the next dose can kick in well, and too much you've just got to ride it out.... Of course it may be the perfect option for some med users, but a lot of them have reported that taking a pill or eating as an anti-nausea drug (if that's what the mj is being used for, just one example) isn't the best idea... Even if you should somehow manage to get either the pill or whatever food into your guts, which at the time are doing the cacaracha, you still have to be able to hold it in for a good while to make sure you start to get effects... And if you've got a problem holding your lunch, which is why you took the bloody pill/cookie in the first place, then you're going to be having a hard time...

 

Of course, smoking has it's drawback too... like you said, tar levels in cannabis are fairly high, and heck, inhaling any ash particles, be they basil or mj is going to cause some harm to your lungs... but it's the weighing up of the pro's and cons... there are supposed to be some nasal spray form of thc coming out soon in europe, and there are many other ways to get mj into ya, so look around, there's more than one way to stone a sick bastard.... :)

You can be as harsh are you wish to believe.

 

The facts are as stated. The amount of chlorophyll contained within lettuce and Marijuana are totally different. The concentration levels are what makes it fatal.

 

Why do you wish to place more lumens onto your Marijuana plant? because it has high concentrations of chlorophyll and will therefore produce a lot more food for itself.

 

It does take quite a bit to be a fatal dose of chlorophyll, but seeing as you're injesting it, metering the dose is difficult.

yeah good point about dosage Luke, its harder to control when ingesting, also when you ingest in relation to your normal eating can also make a huge difference. what I often do is sit down with a cookie and load up the vape, that way I'm high straight away and by the time the high from the vape starts to wear off the cookie kicks in ;)
