Basement 1m height grow

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am trying to find an area in the house for a semi stealth grow, just cleared the basement few days ago and was thinking of growing there.

The height of the basement is 1m tall, which is the only problem as I was initially planning on getting a 600w hps.

I have never grown before so for a 1m max height grow space what is the recommend watt of HPS for it,

Oh and by the way is the difference between a centrifugal fan and a inline fan is that the centrifugal fan runs quiter? and stronger pull/push?

Hi gs, the main difference between a centri and inline fan is the centrifugal will have more torque so is better suited to long runs of ducting and sucking air through carbon filters.

I reckon your best option would be a 600watt with a cooltube, that way heat won't be an issue so you will be able to get the plants very close to the light and utilise your space as best you can.

Naycha :peace:

Because it's my first grow I am gonna use soil,

The floor is Dirt XD. Was surprised to find few power points inside of it, and one of which is connected to the water heater.

Well the basement is there cuz there is a slight slope on the land so one side of the house has a bit extra.

The basement is kinda open as in it is not fully walled only screened by planks of wood with gaps in the middle, so it will have plenty of outside air.

and can probably vent the air towards the water heater or into the house

Will struggle to access them and it can be a bit dusty.

Thinking of burying the pots in the ground ? although will struggle digging in the first place.

I guess another place is my bedroom wardrobe (probably the coldest place in the house), which is 1.8m wide and can split it in 1/2. 1/2 for cloths and 1/2 grow.

It's not so stealthy as mates frequently crash at my place and poke around my room use my pc etc.

Also worried about fan noise in the room at night when I am sleeping.
