1st grow in barfridge need tips and advice

Recommended Posts

Hay 32 is prob a bit hot but not really sure venting in to the wall is a good idear where are u bringing the air in from.

I would sugest u get a filter not so much now but when they flower they get smelly. If u dont want to fork out hundred's on a filter have a look at ODURSOK.

Aircon is good if it get's to hot.

Funny bout the hydro shop im heading out to the wacol one tomorrow.

Happy growing wheatus

P.S. bubblersare easy to make and quite good from what iv read im going to go for a flood and drain with mine. not really sure if it speed's time up or not

thanks wheatus , yeah mate i just punched a small hole in the wall where the 'main' fan sucks heat away from the light, and crammed a small pcv fitting between the fan and the hole, little bit of a airleak but no where near as much hot air ciruclating around, do you think maybe i shud vent out to the roof ( it is possible )

guys am i wasting my time with these computer fans, should i just go and get some proper extractor and inlet fans?

mate as to bringing the air in, i have a small hose attached to my aircon running into the side of the bar fridge ( turn aircon on when she gets hot ), also i have 1x small fan blowing air in from under the bar fridge, i also have just a normal pedestal fan next to the bar fridge helping ciruclate the air leaking from the rear and push fresh air up in there, shud i be venting fresh air in from outside? thanks again will take some piccies now :)

i'm also wondering if i have the plant to close to the light? i've noticed after a good day in that poisition the 2 main leaves are starting to curl down towards the floor, could be stressing abit from the humidity or lack of?

looking at some grow some people have hps lights a metre above the plant when there this old i'm confused:Z cheers again!:)

Hay bro first of all i would sugest if posible bring fresh air in from outside. It dosent really mater where u duct the air to aslong as it's not going back in to the fridge.

If you wanted to spend a bit of money u could have a induct fan sucking air out through some duct in to the roof or even outside. Just need to have good ventalation with fresh

air the aircon is good in hot weather as cooling but not for air and u dont really want to be pulling air from out of the cupboard. Later wheatus

I reckon while they are young have them right away from the light

cheers mate, thought that was way to hot

ended up doing a few extra modifications and boosting the power supplly to the fans. Abit more noisy but pushing air around great, picked up a neat pipe fitting from trash and treasure at the dump cut a hole in the wall and attached the pipe to the main fun that sucks the heat away from the light,

had the light going for a good 4 hours now and temps are staying at 27-28 :) hopefully thats not to hot seems all the air getting pushed into the roof space is helping,

any suggestions on timings i should run the light at, picked up a timer today been reading people try 18-6 or 20-4 i'm not to sure, thanks again!:)

Boosting the power supply to the fans :scratchin: what exactly do you mean by that? If you arent a sparky I hope you are not doing your own electrical work

as for ya temps if ya plants r not burning n growing than there is no problems, personally in sydney in summer ambient air temps get over the 40 degree, heeps more with lights on.....good air flow is the key here. If it keep changing the air in the room ya should be ok, if ya can hold ya hand under the light between the canopy ull be right :)

Thanks guys, Ditched the bar fridge project today, ran into way to many problems + the lady at the local hydro shop i'm wasting my time even turning the 400w light on in such a small space,

went and picked up a 30$ wardrobe i'll post some pics,

any suggestion for a cheap solution for ventilation and where to put it?, i've got heaps of PC fans e.t.c, i have a top shelf seperating the middle section from the top, i thought of drilling some holes to let the heat through and venting out through either the back or the very top of the cupboard?

i know the setup looks dodgy at the moment but im slowly working towards getting everything looking half descent,

i dont have a way of lowering my light atm so i thought if need be i could raise and lower the plant on milk crates?working on a tight budget so any good suggestions for ventilation would be much appreciated,

hehe i'm no sparky mate just a landscaper:), all my fans are only 12v so what i dont to boost the power is just got my Car battery charger wired positive and negative together and noticed a drastic increase of speed:)

got the plant currently under a normal lite, she doesnt look to happy could be heat stress from the night before, hopefully she springs back up:)

If the charger is connected to the battery while its running your fans there should be no problem, depending the type of battery you are using.. unless you've got pics of the setup I cant really say any more

If you have a spare powerpoint I would look into getting a 12v transformer from dick smiths and hook your fans upto that instead of the batt/charger, buts thats just my opinion :bongon:
