High-level Commission Calls Drug War A Failure

I do not think there is much to be cynical about in this article, its a broad view of all drugs on a global scale from the view point of 19 people from all different backgrounds and countries.

 

Dani I would be happy with decriminalization as well, bring of anything that stops the stupidity of countries treating their citizens as criminals for doing as they wish to their own bodies.

 

Anyway its wait and see, would be outrageous if legalized and then restrictions were put on people for personal cultivation but I find it hard to believe any government could justify that. Even medical cannabis in the US, most of the outlets seem to be small businesses, spawned from old growers themselves. A lot of companies might even be worried about their image going into the cannabis trade .

same market forces apply ,, not everyone wants to grow their

own or has the space the time , green thumbs.. he he

The Saturday interview: Richard Branson

 

"I've seen the war on drugs and I've not been impressed," says Branson. "Thousands of people are being killed in Mexico because of the demand for drugs in America. Whole sections of society are becoming lawless, and most of it is over marijuana."

 

He sounds serious to me. I once read a biography on this guy. If you ever shake hands with him be sure to count your fingers afterwards. He will steal anything. Most of his business ideas he stole from friends. That said, he does seem to have a social conscience of sorts. He has given heaps of money away to charity. Far more than required to get some decent media attention.

 

However, he isn't one to miss a business opportunity.

 

"He doesn't have plans for Virgin Weed any time soon, even if the drugs war gets called off. "I've got 400 companies, I don't need 401," he says, and pauses. You can see his business brain ticking over. "If I wasn't a commissioner," he starts, then he stops himself …"

yes its a step in the right direction, but then you look closer to home and our laws in W.A and its going the wrong direction

 

 

also branson needs to buy a few more companies so then virgin weed does hit the stores it will be no. 420
