Medical Marijuana Pro/Con is a research project of the A-Mark Foundation, a 501©(3) non-profit, non-partisan private foundation, without government affiliation of any kind.  Our goal is to publish the best available pro and con responses to the question: \"Should smoked marijuana be a medical option now?\"

Judge Alex Kozinski, in his 9th Circuit Court of Appeals concurring opinion in Conant v. Walters wrote our website is an "exhaustive catalog of information and expert opinion on both sides of the (medical) marijuana debate."

 

 

 

The depth of the debate can be seen by the following examples of the directly conflicting views of government and educated participants.  The U.S. DEA website states \"Not one American health association accepts marijuana as medicine,\" while our site lists numerous American health associations that does accept marijuana as medicine, such as American Public Health Association and Lymphoma Foundation of America.

 

 

 

Congressman Bob Barr said that medical marijuana is "bogus witchcraft.  It has no place in medicine, no place in pain relief, and it has no place around our children,\" while Consumer Reports Magazine said "for patients with advanced AIDS and terminal cancer, the apparent benefits some derive from smoking marijuana outweigh any substantiated or even suspected risks.\"
