Please help setting this timer

Recommended Posts

Personally for me .. LESS digital the better .. Far too much hassle , and simple push downs have yet to fail me

This is pretty much all analog, with the push downs, and it has yet to work for me. So as you can see I'm just about ready to try anything.

I've tried the push down things, I still have two that I've yet to bother using again.

The fact they give no fucking instruction whatsoever isn't really helpful...things like "when the thing is actually effective FROM" aren't mentioned...not knowing what's on vs off, and when exactly to employ it in relation to an actual clock.

It's like they're designed to help people that have used them before but to people who're unfamiliar with the configuration?

"fuck you".

There's the type of people who just "get" these things, and those who just do not. I had someone attempt to explain them to me (someone who had used them before - the theory stands) as though it was clear as day to them, but the information did not yield any results at all.

So I've accepted it.

I just don't have the patience to fuck about with shit like this.

I don't know, I'll be getting digital for my next one...if I can set an alarm clock, it shouldn't be a problem.

I was absolutely out of my mind trying to work out my timer.... ThenmI realized you have to push

ALL the pins down for the period of time you don't want the light to run... I had been just pushing

one pin down at 630 am and one pin down at 630pm and wondering why the light would only run for 5 mins....

Not sure if this is your problem ??

Reckless: This timer is new as far as I know, so even if it couldn't handle the power it should've at least worked once I thought. And I am not using this timer to run HPS at the moment, so it shouldn't have any worries at all.

Yes you are right you would think it would run once. So it wont even turn somehting such as a kitchen appliance on or off either?

Here are the pics requested, dont know if they help.

I wish that was my problem, but no... I had them all pushed down (or up) depending on which way I was trying to test it. And I tried as many different ways as I could think of. Nothing.

Good Luck.

No, it won't even turn on/off a pedestal fan without me using the permanent on/off switch. So... power can run through it, but the timer mechanism is busted. I'm starting to think it really is missing the connector part that AJ mentioned.

Thanks for the pics though. Yours looks fairly similar except for the position of the switch. Mine has it outside the dial, on the upper left, where I think there is supposed to be a connector that pushes in toward the "bits" you push in our out.
