G13 Vs G13 HP

On my 10th week of my second grow of G13 and G13 x HP..

Ive gotten to go quite well this time.

They are very simliar.

This time round I took all shade leaves off, topped, and trained the branches..so they were spleighed out..(my plants were ultra compact) It rewarded me well for the effort..

I rekon next time Ill be trimming the excess leaf every 2 weeks..

At 10 weeks flower they are geting a nice fruity overtone to them, and some purple tinges.Totally sugar coated. Each plant has about 10 coke can sized heads on it.not bad considering they are just in a 250mm squat pot.. I rekon ill try them in a bubbler system next time.

This strain has potential..but I rekon it takes a little extra work to get the best out of it.

I personally think that the G13 strains is simply over-rated, I don't find anything special with these g13 strains.

10 weeks flower? Damn how long do they take? I thought G13 was a 8 week strain.

Theres no such thing, MJ only has a leaf it needs for energy, if it no longer needs them then they fall off,

 

You shouldnt remove any living tissue from it otherwise it just wastes time and energy to regrow what you just removed, Not to mention stressing the plant.

 

The only tips I can offer with my experiances with G13, is that it doesnt stretch much when the light is changed, so make sure its almost full sized when stretching,

Mine was hard to clone and my attempt at a motherplant failed,

It appeared to have loads of resin and looked promissing, however my buds were prettier than potent, I mean It just looks awesome but the smoke is pretty ordinary,

 

I like the G13 more than the G13hp, but I only grew it once and turned it way to early, I only got 4 Oz off each plant, the HP actually yeiled slightly better,

this is a strong smelling plant though, not easy to hide, it gave my Ozone generator a run for its money,

hey,

my G13s are mad compact leafy things..that dont allow much light into the cente of the plant..The shade leaves are ridiculously big...And this lot that i trimmed the leaves off are going heaps better than the last lot when i didnt trim them off.

Even after a mega leaf trim..they still got more leaf on them than any other strain i got.

Its the/leaf to calyx ratio...i always take leaves off my plants..imo..its a myth that someone made up that you dont have to take them off..I take all the large shade leaves that stop light into the lower bottom and middle of the plant.I at least chop the fingers in half..You may have read your information somewhere..I read it ages ago too..but after experimentation, ive found that taking leaves off works for my style of grows. Its a common sence thing...Im not saying you havent got any..its just after youve been growing it for many years...you get to the stage when you can just look at a strains growth pattern and know exactly what it need to optimise it.

PS..mine cloned in 5 days..fastest cloning plany ive ever seen..and the mothers are strong as oxen...when you take the big shade leaves off..it stretches for you like a normal plant. This strain is not for beginners, IMO unless they know people who will give them usefull tips ....like me

I didnt find g13 useful in scrog....

 

I took a 3 cm clone as an experiemnt and it came thru it ok....

 

Id like to cross g13 with BCBB as a personal experiment

 

Improve its slow growth patterns...slow flowering time...and general slow everything...

G13 - to me was awaste of time.. over hyped crock.. imo -

 

G13 x HP - waz the shizznizzal

 

good smoke kept me a planted playing playstation

fuck off - big leafs...

 

i came to the conclusion.. why bother with G13 when u Got

G13 x HP...

for the commerical crew -

if u want noone to complain about your buds ever...!

 

i suggest G13 x HP

Kash..sounds like you'll have some nice smoko in the near future. Thought it was an 8-weeker tho ? Mind if I ask what kind of lighting youre usin?

 

atm have a G13HP mum and some clones.

Noticed the clones took forever to catch on, some even sat there for nearly 3 weeks before root action ...longest timer Ive ever dealt with.

 

To me it seems like a fussy plant but I hope its worth it at the end.

From what Ive just read it should be good.

 

One question: How would this strain perform with SOG ? Or would it be better to stick with 1-2 plants and get some of them 'coke-can' sized colas.

Hey..

 

Not 8 weeks man..You can take it then..its as resiny as any normal plant..but as soon as it hits the start of the 11th week it gushes resin..Im thinking of letting mine go to the start of the 12th..so 11 complete weeks.

The slow cloning could be because of the weather atm..But they are always the first ones up for me..

It is a fussy plant...make no mistake..not really suited to a large commercial plant...but for the small to medium grower..who doesnt mind waiting ...id say its worth it.

I reckon it could go 12 full weeks.

But thatsonly based on what Ive discovered SO far...

But my next lot should tell the full story Id say...i reckon in a nice big bubbler...something that will accelerate the veg a bit....with the training/trimming and maybe an extra 2 week fluoro veg stage even..to get it to grow a little more leggy..

Ive been thinking it may need an extra stage than most plants...a fluoro veg stage...So youd get it cloned.. then health and vigour under HID ...then a specific G13 veg room ..with flouro and maybe just one 400mh....for say 7-14 days to get a bi of t leginess...then veg again under a HID for 7-14 to beef her.. then turn it t.

So yeah..its slower..and takes work..but from what Im seeing now in the 11th week..its worth it.
