Iv stored my buds since last harvest. Iv got about 2 oz left and almost hitting the 12 months mark since harvest. They have lost alot of colour and are quite browny green in colour now. Will they still be alright to smoke??

My guess is that colour change is reflecting whats happening to the rest of the active thc here. It would be changing too? (Into something else probably) That has been my experience.

I have heard mixed messages regarding the potency of weed after a storing for a long period of time. Im dubious

If a vaccuum bag fails, you'll see it will lose vacuum, grab another bag and re-seal, easy. Dont handle em roughly. Peace. Nibbler

maybe double bag cause they dont always fail straight away. ive had one seal up fine but next time i pulled it out of storage it was full of air again

Optimal storage is actually the total absence of any effector molecules or radiation that will chemically modify active compounds - oxygen, light, heat etc. However, what most people perceive as optimal is not. Air-tight containers still contain air, so do vacuum bags.

Call me a 'mungbean' but i dont understand how leaving some moisture in buds when 'curing' over a long time in a jar doesnt make it all rot?

How come 'burping' new oxygen into a mason jar doesnt speed up the oxidation of your weed, but cures instead? Puzzled here.
