Carbon filter/ventilation question

Recommended Posts

hahaha sorry i set out to do it on the ipad before and got as far as "hey" before i got distracted by some simple bullshit stunned.gif must of hit post doh.gif not too bad either mate haha

Any ways back on the laptop now , so we been putting some thought into how our room would be if we where to go through with setting it up.

In there master bedroom there is a walk in wardrobe that runs the whole length of the room , about 3.5 metres and it runs open (no walls) from end to end.perfect .The height is 2.35 metres and sinks 70 mm deep back from the door , then it has a shelf set 60 down from the ceiling and also run the whole length of the room . The timber board that is the shelf is in 2 parts and meets right in the middle , which is great for if we just take one half of the shelf out to gain full height of the room in one half of the robe for a garden by bording it of , then the other half can remain a functionall and hopefully inconspicous (probably not how you spell it:?) ! It has four door which can easily be air/light proofed with some adhesive rubber seals.

From what i've looked at with our budget for it all , we should be able to get a 150mm by 500mm carbon filter.

And what i wanna know is if i just bought one 150mm inline fan attached to the filter with ducting and forcing the air out into the other half of the robe , would this be enough venting if we had 2 400 watt hps lights ? i will try to get some pictures of the room tommorow for you to see if you dont understand .

cheers

Heya green dream =) , mate I would buy 2 x 600w, 2 cooltubes, a 200mm centri fan and a 200 x 250 carbon filter, use that to light up and ventilate about 2-2.5m of that walk in and use the other 1-1.5m to use as a veg/clone/ mother area using CFL/s, seperate with Panda film. Plenty of room, grow some monsters in there. lol. best of luck. Welcome to OS . Gh72

Thanks G.H bloody great site mate .bongon.gif

Nah i know the room would be ideal for that , but we just wanna keep it small . Scale it down to one plant after the first grow .

Thats a shame about the fan ,scratchchin.gif might just get the centri fan for the mean time and a cb when we can afford it .

For the lighting a friend is lending us 400w hps and we thinking of getting a 400w digital hps/mh in a cool tube of ebay .something like this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-400W-HPS-MH-DIGITAL-GROW-LIGHT-6-COOL-TUBE-HOOD-CE-/140543858815?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b911187f

Dont know if these are any good though ? Once we just have the one plant goin it;ll be in a space of 700mm by 850mm by 2350mm grown scrog style in rdwc punk.gif thinking a 400w should work well in there ?

Heya Greendream, just noticed on the pics, the ballast and timer have US style plugs which means they are different . So there's adapters to buy to start and freight from the US for that would be a bit exxy. go a 400W magnetic ballast, 150mm cooltube, 400W HPS globe, 150mm Centri Plastic Westaflex fan and some 150mm ducting and you'll be laughing. Make sure you get the carbon filter (150mm x 500mm), or you'll regret it...........smells give away most grows Imo. ......and shitty stealth.

Hook up like:

Carbon Filter(Duct)Cooltube(duct)Fan(duct)- Air out into roof. Hope this helps. Peace. Gh72
