on this issue of outdoor grow during winter....I'm near the Gold Coast, and I want to plant out some babes that are about 6 inches tall.....but am a little worried about the coldish weather we get in August.....I would appreciate the experiences or knowledge of any other outdoor growers in this area, that have tried to grow the lil buggers during our winter...

Im doin it right now got around 15, 2 of em are nearly finished buddin but the others are just starting budding. Got em in a small greenhouse in the bush. They dont seem to have slowed down but then again anything could happen. It aint that cold yet but dont know heres a link if you wana see the pics. https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners.com/topic/32092-white-widow-x-purple-1/page__pid__302843__st__20#entry302843

Thanx Psyco for the info and good luck with your grow....so do you reckon the cold weather really slows em down, or just kills 'em? these little buggers have already budded, but they are too small, so I thought I'd just let in grow "thru" their buds (done that before) and let em grow till next Xmas, and then harvest....sound do-able? Don't have a hot house, just plannin to plant em out in a sunny spot...guess I'm trying to work out how resistant they are to the cold.... Edited by kerry1

Not to sure if the cold kills em or slows em down, but one thing i know is its only 40 days till the coldest day on winter which is june the 21st i think. Im not sure if the yield will be small but if you can yield like 10grams per plant itll still be worth it in my opinion. If I could i would take a decent sized greenhouse depending on how many plants you gona grow, set it up in the bush, get a shit load of grass which you cut from your backyard and build a big mound. This creates alot of heat as bacteria will build im trying to decompose the grass. If you could get enough grass it would create enough heat within the greenhouse to keep the plants warm enough to get through winter. I remember my best mate went to america right in the middle of christmas and he did this in his backyard. He also chucked in a heater connected to electricity and when he came back his babies had grown 2 - 3 feet in a matter of 3 or 4 weeks. But without that not sure if it will work. Maybe itll stop growing till it starts gettign warm again then the plant will start growin again. But if i were you id try a few out if you dont mind usin the seeds. Good luck with it, just try to be creative and think of a way you could create heat within a green house.
