Phat filter diameter

Am I correct in thinking that the diameter stated for a phat filter (eg. 150x500) is the size of the flange not the barrel?

I be sure it has to be for everything to match up but just want to make sure before purchase.

Yup it's flange size. From memory it's about 70mm extra diameter from the flange. So a 150x500 filter is around 220 wide. I can measure if you like when I get back to WA from my trip.

Thanks Darth, overall diameter is not important, just wanted to make sure ducting was gonna fit.

NP mate. I think the latest models are 155mm but actually fit standard black or silver fine. Nice and snug.

 

Good luck with it, I use that brand and find them quite good, mind you I use a 150x1000 model with anything up to 3x600s.

I use one aswell. Awesome! Yes it is referring to the ducting size.

I have a 150x500 phat filter, its pretty good at stripping odour, but I still get a bit of a pong building up where I dump the output air when im in full budding...

 

This is the first grow I have used it, but I hear after a few grows it wont filter the air so well anymore,

I guess the carbon just soaks up all it can take

 

set it up so u pull air thru it, not blow air into it
