Best PH and Nute Strength for Coco coir

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I have a bagseed plant growing in coco coir with about 20% perlite. I usually adjust my nutes to 5-6 PH (Can't exactly tell cause only have liquid PH tester that goes up 5, 5.5, 6)

She (hopefully) is upto about the 6th node and a foot high and over the last few days the tips of the leaves were going brown and sort of curling up.... Looked around and can't seem to find what it means... It isn't heat stress cause its over the entire plant. I flushed her (please be a her) ph 5.5 water then today I gave her almost full strength DutchMaster Hot CoCo with a bit of superthrive and also FIMed her (Pleaseeeeeeeeeee). The tips are still looking the same tho.... Not getting any worse from what I can tell.

Anyway basically just wanted to know the best PH for COCO with a bit of Perlite.

Also can someone tell me the strength of nutes I should give my plants in different stages of growth. I could only find the PPM but I don't have a meter to test it. And my nutes don't say the PPM when mixed @ full strength. In % would be good

Thanks dudes

You need to do a run off test to ascertain the PH/CF of your media..and then water accordingly to bring the runoff to PH 5.5 - 6.0 and CF of 2.2 in warmer months and 2.4 in colder months.

Flush every week with fresh water, although you will still have to do a runoff test to asertain the required PH of the fresh water.

After a while you will be able to tell how much the plants need at different stages without doing the runoff test. everyday.

At that time you can do the test once weekly.

Good Luck
