S&P TD Silent Fan

Ladies & Gents,

 

Our "prayers" have been answered.

 

Ever wanted to move a bucket load of air but don't want the associated noise or the need for silencers, S&P have come to the party with their new TD Silent Fans.

I have an S&P TD800/200 which pushes a massive amount of air, 1100m3/hr @ 40db. The silent variety pushes 800m3/hr @ 20 decibels; to maintain the same flow I'd just need to step up to the TD1000/200 Silent.

 

The best part is the price, from 78 Pounds these are awesome value.

My question is being inline, how do they compare pushing air through long-ish duct lengths against a centrifugal? and scrubbers? Edited April 30, 2011 by ConvexConepiece

They're designed to push air over medium distances (whatever that means) and also pull through filter boxes. My guess is they'd work just fine. Mine pulls through an odor sok without dramas. Edited April 30, 2011 by smokinjoe

I have a 6" fan that looks the same for 1 of the intakes, I am using it as a replacement for a 4" can fan. Even with lots of sound proofing the can fan was loud as hell, the new fan doesn't blow as hard but it is basically silent.

sweet fan all my ideas are coming together. Can anyone recomend a good filter. and is it better to force air through or suck it through cheers

The debate re:suck versus blow continues, but Ive tried em both in my present grow cab, & one is a clear winner

 

Put your carbon filter as close as possible to the smell source ( IN ya grow space ), & suck that stench away as quick as possible.

 

Did it the other way last year , with fan & cf in roof space.. no, no ,no.. not as good . Really noticed it ,after tending grow, I get a cloud of stink in my room..

 

Smell clears MUCH quicker when the CF is RIGHT above the plants, & if ya quick enuff, barely any smell leaks, & what does is cleaned quickly by being sucked thru the passive intakes.

 

Depends on ya situation tho, but thats what has CLEARLY been the better option for my set-up

 

Good luck, & be prepared to tweak thru things.. which may take a while

Hay shirty my plan was to have a shelf at the top of my grow box with with a pipe going in to filter then one of the S&P fans then a pipe going out how dose thas sound
