The NCPIC Disscussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I could probably dig deeper but I'm satisfied knowing what I do based on the information I've already found (I found a bit more which I didn't post) which, to me, confirms their close associations with the Pharmaceutical industry.

There is one question I would have for Jan and that is: Has any Pharmaceutical company, or other company acting on behalf of a Pharmaceutical company, ever paid her directly for any work done on behalf of the Pharmaceutical company?

If you've got 3 hours to spare, watch the following documentary (it's in 2 parts and each part is roughly 1.5 hours long):

The Marketing of Madness: The Truth About Psychotropic Drugs (Part 1/2)

The Marketing of Madness: The Truth About Psychotropic Drugs (Part 2/2)

Basically, it exposes the fraud of Psychology (ironically, Jan has a Bachelors on the subject) and Pharmaceuticals and how the entire industry is based around unscientifically provable 'diseases' and it's sole purpose of prescribing as many tablets as possible, to as many people as possible.

Unfortunately, I see the fraud of it all regulatory as my dad is a product of their making. He takes seventeen tablets daily (all to treat the symptoms of the other drugs he takes) and majority of the time he's a zombie.

And with comments such as:

  • "You're my cashcow"
  • "I'm not sure what the problem is. Try these tablets and see how it goes"

... from his 'psychiatrist' I just can't understand how he doesn't wake up to the lies he's being told.

Yeah I'm well aware of the money first attitude that big pharma has. I for example have had asthma all my life and had been put on steroids and was using an inhaler daily and then one day came across a breathing technique that no doctor had even mentioned to me. I havn't touched asthma medication since changing my breathing... They would also never tell you that pot works probably twice as good as an inhaler for opening up the lungs for both effect and duration. :applause:

Exactly. From what I've learned in the past twelve months, everyone thinks smoking Cannabis is analogous to smoking Tobacco and thus the same harms, but it is so far from the truth. If you're not a Tobacco smoker and you have a couple of puffs, you'll feel and taste it for the next 24-48 hours, but the same can not be said for Cannabis.

You can't have an opposing view and still be part of the "National Cannabis Prevention and Information centre". They have a vendetta against cannabis and cannot be budged any way. Maybe we should start a group called the "National Cannabis Information Centre" and give the real facts, considering at least that way people trying to find false proof of the harms would accidentally think NCIC is the same thing and stumble upon a wealth of information supporting otherwise.

We can't go one believing that we can help legalize such a helpful substance through an organisation dedicated to fighting against it. WE have to find an alternative route and do the work ourself by building our foundation from scratch until we are the only centre of information that anyone should visit to get the REAL facts.

Hi Jan,

First of all, I want to apologize for my grumpy reply in the other thread :/

The reason I get so worked up about this subject is because I feel very strongly about the Medical use of Cannabis.

In my 23yrs of using Cannabis, I have never seen ANY adverse side effects...and since actually taking an interest, I have found it to be beneficial for more things than I could imagine :o

My questions are,

QUOTE FROM NCPIC FACTSHEET PAGE - “Studies show that violence can occur more often among people who use cannabis regularly, rather than those who use it occasionally or not at all. It is unclear why this is the case, but it may be because people with violent tendencies can also have a range of other psychosocial problems and are therefore more likely to use cannabis.â€

What scientific documentation does NCPIC have to prove this? And how old is that information?

Also, what research does NCPIC actually do? And where do they/you get their/your information?

Has there been recent human trials with Cannabis in Australia? If not, why not?

Would NCPIC be willing to help a Medical Cannabis research board/organization by publicizing ALL of its findings, if such an organization were operating?

I look forward to seeing what you have to say.

Cheers Me :bongon:

yes, i agree, i believe this ncpic, to be nothin but a propagander driven, orginization with no real, medical, or social motives, other than to back the governments drive to ban a subtance they know very little about, from my research , it has amazing medicinal properties, and when ingested via a vaporizer, has no bad health issues, only medicinal pluses.

ive never heard of any stoner having a big session and going home to bash his wife, or have i heard of a crime spree drivin by the lack of cannabis, but i have heard of drunk idiots bashing their wives, i have heard of people stealing cigerettes, just to get their fix, ive been a stoner for 20plus years and i dont have a criminal record, ive never been in trouble with the law, due to me being stoned. i have experimented with harder drugs but never had a habit, i always went back to my bong, just to chill out after a hard day at the office.

if the government could find a way to make money from the sale of cannabis, it would be in the shops by now.. but they are too busy, with world wars and climate change.

happy vapeing to all..

As i had supposed ... You have quite inappropriately as it were discussed any of the mentioned topics nor did you even attempt to gather the correct data necessary to educate yourself and then to provide the public with education on an issue NCPIC seems so eager to pursue.....Jan, oh jan, what a disappointment, have you folded?.. our graciousness?..... where is your service to the people, humanity, us??too many challenging questions, she would rather claim that it would take too much time to cover all subjects within this forum or some other petty excuse similiar in grandeur.........

This will have to vary in scope now .... to include areas in which jan cannot avoid contact online and/or other. Bad press could seriously damage NCPIC, funding could be cut to some extent.... I know Jan that you realize how important we value this subject and not just for our own gain, but for the people. It is a crime against personal choice only, a victimless crime at that, the australian govt can't afford flimsy cannabis related trials, the police lack the efficacy to even substantiate evidence that could be used/utilised afterwards this increases time spent on cases and not to mention recent .... mainstream news stating that major political figures and world leaders...... were about to discuss the failing drug war and how prohibition simply stimulates crime ...... You may be out of a job sooner than you could imagine, so are you clenchtight in maintaining an agenda that is false for your own personal gain or are you interested in 'meeting half way' as it were in at least altering false information relating to cannabis? Acknowledge the truth, please investigate current scientific data, I study the sciences academically and i assure you that you're ignorance and incredulity amazes only the witless amongst us, please Jan....... do continue...

Yours in anarchy,

A. Free Citi'zen'

Jan - "Hi, Yes back again. I can only say again that medicinal use of cannabis is a specialist topic area and I am not a medical doctor. NCPIC is also not funded to deal with medicinal cannabis so that is why we don't comment on it in any detail except if I am asked in live media interviews but I make c;ear I am not expert in this complex area. "

In other words - I don't speak unless I'm paid to be on TV. Poor form, Jan.
