Lighting help

Recommended Posts

I went to the lighting store without a written plan and got these.

Hoping to power atleast 3-5 plants using:

2x25w Daylight 6400K

1x25w cool white 4100K

3x20w warm 3000K

1x14w 2700K

All up- 149w

Am i on the right spectrum rates? Which should i get more of? 1st timer..... :)

Next light without question should be a hps. The lights you have will be ok for small clones but thats it really. May as well just save yourself the hassle of dissapointment and go a 600w for decent plants. Theres plenty of info here eh. Check out the grow diaries too se what people are using and youl get the jist. Good luck matey :bongon:

I can get a 1000w but is the power used worth it? I read up and it will cost 230$ approx. a month

.......... first grow?

And btw, its a stealthy drawers grow

1000 watts yield ya close to a lb if ya do the basics and with enough veg time....not sure what ur paying for a pound at the moment but ill let u decide...:)

sorry didnt seee ya growing in a draw....what size ya got to work with...and if ya do go the 1k ya gona have to get fansa few other bits n pieces go along with it :)

You could mess around with fluros and have a wonderful veg but a crap flower, all light and fluffy buds.

Personally I'd be going HID or High Intensity Discharge the whole way. Ultimately, you want HPS or High Pressure Sodium lamps. These lamps have the right light spectrum for the complete grow. If the 1000w you can get is HPS rather than MH or Metal Halide then I'd do it. HPS can be used for both veg and flower cycles. MH is good for veg, not so good for flower. Some ppl do a veg with MH and a flower with HPS. Me i'm just HPS whole growth.

You say "stealth drawer" what are your dimensions? 1000w may be too much in a small area. Check out the room calculator in Cannaversity.

Also some of the bulbs take up a bit of space. Some MH bulbs are like football size, plus the fitting.

Just some things to think about. Keep asking questions. Info is knowledge, knowledge is power.

1.2m by 1.2 meter by 2 meter high will do it...but gona need spend another $250 on a extraction fan after that and then a carbon filter ( which ya need anyways just larger ) for smell. duct......osclating fan ( no matter size of ya cupards.....

as for ya cfls i wont even clone with em....i say no...but heeps of ppl here use em and if only 1 can show me a decent yield off em ill be happy retract that statement.
