Changing to 600's

Recommended Posts

Unless the ballast is switchable i'd imagine power usage and heat would be the same as the 1000's, likely decreasing the 600w bulbs lifespan at same time? scratchchin.gif

That's what i've gathered in my research about it.

Thanks for the concern, I've seen this on youtube. The dude there reckons he's been doing it for quite awhile with no problems. The room is running 5 degrees cooler, I'll check meter tomorrow to see what the power difference is. The theory is you can draw up to 1000w.

Cheers'.

Yea I see a lot of bullshit bad advice on youtube as well.... wallbash.gif

Love the 2x1000w, but the room runs too hot and the power bill is to high. But I'm thinking would 1x1000w on a mover be better than 2x600w? the room is 2m in length, so the light would only be moving about 1200mm. So is it 2x600w ballasts or, 1 light mover.

Any idea's out there.....

if ya buy a bigger fan to combat the heat it will be cheaper than the light mover and ya will produce more buds hehehe :)

BUt yer if ya got the option and the cash go the 2 600s or even maybe the 1k and a 400 watter

Power consumption is the main issue. I know what 2000w's will achieve have a look at my grow diary. I think 1x1000w on a mover would be better than 2x600 watters.
