So who got hit with mold?

well ive lost over halve my plant to mold when i went to my friends to pick it up and trim (had to give it to a mate for the last month) couldnt have it at my house, i talked to a few mates and i worked out who that picked after the last rains got mold but everyone i know that picked before them where fine. my first case of mold and fkn spewin.

I didn't lose a whole lot to mold, maybe a small section of bud here and there. Some of that rain definitely came at the wrong end of the season. Once your plants show a small degree of mold contamination, you can bet that it will spread.

 

What strain were you growing btw?

This was the first year I've had a problem with mould. Thankfully I did not loose much, but it's still a pain in the ass.

I had to pull early due to mold this year. 

 

About 4 days after I pulled them I was inside listening to music and then there was this loud noise, I thought someone was mowing the lawn right outside my door or something. Looked outside and there was a police chopper hovering right over my greenhouse.

 

I ain't religious or nothing, but when stuff like that happens it makes ya wonder if there is some higher entity looking out for ya, .

All my biggest, fattest buds got mold inside... even with constant air circulation/exchange

 

Any average sized buds were fine...

 

I lost around 40% yeild

 

Not paying enough attention at a critical time i guess...

 

I had:

3x white widow - they had good mold resistance and none seem affected.

2x ak47 - they had the worst mold and fattest colas

2x skunk#1 - only some mold in biggest buds

2x automatic afrodite - mold in biggest buds

 

How do you protect your fattest buds from this?

 

Citrus spray? humidity control? Air injected into buds? just harvest sooner?

Had 4 and 3 got mould, I had a close eye on it and probably only lost 5-10% in what was on the plants however due to pulling early would have lost 20-30%. The one that didn't get mould eventually got the littlest bit in the drying box as I had to pull when they were wet. I also added molasses to them during flowering and later learnt it aids in culturing fungi, you can be sure I wont use that again......even if it really does a bit, it definitely shouldn't be used unless your in arid or hot, dry conditions.
