SO some of my buds have a small part where it is all very brown, no green, and broke apart v easy. A mate reckons fungus, but i found little caterpillars each time I looked.

Could this be fungus? If it is fungus can it spread? It smells super chronic though (the brown supposed fungus part)

Hey phatbeats :peace: Ive heard the same thing from alot mates that have the same problem with their out door plants, its been a terrible growing season this year where i am and it really hasn't dried out since last winter really :wallbash: I recon we will lose more then 50% to mold :crybaby:

I would say its mold mate and there's no real way of controlling it when the weather is shit as it is  so if it was me id harvest and cut my losses.

All the best with it mate..

Dallas.

I have this stuff for my grapes called spinosad, the little fuckers look just like those grape vine motherfuckers I topped.

Spinosad is a natural bacteria they found on an island with no caterpillars! It is in good pesticides and is a pretty safe option for an organically minded Gardener. Anyway next year I'll use some.

I'm confused though, is the mould caused by the damp, or by the caterpillar?

With this wet weather looking to set in now (in Melb) and my plant budding into early May, is mould a major concern to worry about? Is there anything that can be done to mitigate mould in an outdoor and uncovered area? I suppose just to allow good airflow around the buds is all you can do? Edited by GlennWilson
